The change is likely not enough but it’s in the right direction. I was shocked (pleasantly) to see these balance changes in the patch notes. I mean it’s literally just updating a few values in a table or DB so they should be able to do this any week they want. Hopefully they continue to build on these frequent small tweaks until some sort of balance is achieved.
AGS math may round down in all this too. BUT I wonder how this will be calculated with the 200 con and 15% physical armor on sns. but then we quickly get to the diminishing returns of armor and bigger buff for rend.
Not sure I am playing the same game as some others on here. Medium armor is actually quite nice. You can easily compete 1v1 vs light armor users if you are controlled when using your dodges and they don’t get their wombo combo on you immediately. Anytime ive used heavy armor in pvp ive had times where ive built up fortify and was tanking huge amounts of damage and smacking people around with a hammer. Light armor is just more fun because it gives skilled players all of the tools needed to dance around.
changes went nowhere even approaching far enough. Shirking fort needs to be brought up to about 10-15% at least (and all sources of fortify for that matter, the fact that fortify is a self rend on light is the dumbest thing I have ever heard) to even be worth running and heavy needs a flat range damage mitigation of about 30% to be worth running outside of wars.
The only way to play heavy currently is with sns, that should tell you everything you need to know about the current balance of pvp. If you strip away any kind of defensive capability that med and heavy have then people will simply choose to play light as mobility is unbelievably more reliable at damage mitigation.
Still better than watching someone with a bow run and hold W for most of the match Oh and occasionally press LMB after the person gets sick of chasing them
They fixed stun locks but left heavy in a bad spot, no one plays heavy for a good reason, only thing it had going for it was cc duration pre patch, I play light now cause the mitigation it currently has is not worth it, better off dodge rolling. With the damage range does the only thing melee can do is get as close as possible as fast as possible. But Ty for watching someone’s gotta watch my 80 1v3 videos you know
yes yes, 80 videos of right click, like watching bruisers holding shift to bunny hop or GS users holding LMB for heavy attacks or archers spamming shift, either you get sh1ted on by S&S or your in one of my videos. but we all got combos here, bruisers love doing shock wave, then wrecking ball then maelstrum. spear users…dont get me started on that cc train. but we all have our things, you hide in the bushes while i push the frontline. my favorite is this fire staff user using burnout into detonate to 1 shot people.
