Heavy Paladin Math bug results in 66.6% fortifying shield rush armor increase bug

There’s currently a bug where applying a fortify buff on one weapon and immediately switching to a sword and applying fortifying shield rush incorrectly calculates the armor increase to be significantly higher than 33%.

I’m confident that it’s not well-known that this bug is back, yet, but it is being abused by the players currently running the top leaderboard times and I feel everyone should know about it if AGS isn’t going to fix it.

I tested this on life staff using Protector’s Touch, which applies a 15% fortify. I trigger the perk and then switch to shield and use fortifying shield rush. My armor rating goes from 1,601.9 to 2,668.8 which is a 66.6% increase in armor.

Once you’ve triggered the bug once, all shield rush’s will result in this 66% armor increase, even if you don’t switch weapons and reapply the steps. The bugged effect remains until the player dies, changes instances, or teleports to a city/shrine.

sincerely,

I don’t know if I understood your story well. however, shield rush can stack up to 3 times, giving a 99% fortify. it’s the action of his own perk.

you both have me confused and intrigued at the same time

It can? That doesn’t sound right

Yes, up to 3 times if you hit 3 targets.

In the old description of the perk this was more explicit.

?? :V

I mean I remember a bug that had runeglass procs giving you another stack…but they fixed that.

yes, the bug was you activate the other stacks even with a single target. But with multiple targets, it always had, up to a limit of 3.

cant seem to replicate it, my armor just goes from 2300 to 3000 on a shield rush regardless of switching weapons with that life staff perk on hit

Dang. I wish it said that. That’s pretty nuts
