Help needed improving ping

I’ve noticed that most of the people I asked of their ping, they’re around 15ms ~ 40ms.
I have it on 70ms jumping to even 100ms. And since I dont know about stuff I’m about to ask, maybe some of you do.

What i need to improve / ask my provider for in order to get the lowest ping possible?
Is it better porting? Is it more internet speed?

I’m located in Balkans, but i hear people that are even farther than me, have a better ping.
For example outpost rush is unplayable for me, ping says 80ms but it feels like 150ms, really unplayable.

Thanks for the feedback in advance.

Your Ping depends on many things.
First of all your distance to the Server you are playing on. But also the Type of the Connection, your Provider, your Router, your PC…

If you want to increase your Ping you should make sure, that you

  1. Close Programs you aren’t using
  2. Disable Updates while Gaming / Stop all Downloads while Playling
  3. Dont use Wifi, use a LAN Cable
  4. Make sure that only needed devices are in your local network
  5. Make sure your Router runs with the latest updates
  6. If all the steps before dont help, contact your internet provider
  1. Close Programs you aren’t using
=> I dont have any programs running that can slow things up.
  2. Disable Updates while Gaming / Stop all Downloads while Playling
=> I do not download or anything similar to this while playing
  3. Dont use Wifi, use a LAN Cable
=> I am on the LAN cable
  4. Make sure that only needed devices are in your local network
=> Will do, but i dont think they are downlading/using/lowering the speed
  5. Make sure your Router runs with the latest updates
=> Will have to check out a video about that

I would like to even pay some extra $$ to have a better ms, since i dont think these 5 steps will make it much better. Could it be that my router is old and that is another reason?

Yes, a high ping can also be caused by an old router, but also by old LAN cables or older network cables.

I think the best thing to do is to have a website calculate your ping.
For example: speedtest.net

If your ping is also very high there, this is a general problem which can be traced back to your router, internet provider or the connection of these or the connection to your PC.

If the ping is only high in New World, it is most likely due to your PC or local network.

It would be best if you also post your PC specifications, then we can see if there are any problems.

Thanks for the reply.

I forgot to mention that my ping, on sites such as the one you provided, is fine.
Just did a test, you can see the results here. (17ms)

What specifications are you interested in? Not sure how my cpu, ram, graphics, etc can make a difference, but I can provide those as well.

Intel(R) Core™ i5-8400 CPU @ 2.80GHz 2.81 GHz
RAM: 16 GB
GeForce GTX 1050

I do have 2/3 PC’s on my local network, thats what i thought first, other 2 PC’s might be using yotube, downloading something, etc, and that could be my problem. But my ping is never less than 70ms even if the other 2 PC’s are not in use.

Edit: Also, sometimes while connecting to the servers, my ping is not ideal but is better than the actual in-game ms. Once im in-game it says 65~100 and i can feel it is in that range.

There is now a thread about problems with ping and lags.
It’s best if you sign in there as well.

Otherwise I can’t help you here.
Your PC is better than the minimum requirements for New World.

Alright, thank you.

Can you just let me know where do i check my “Bandwidth”?

Since i need to provide that in the thread you’ve sent.

TY

Its somewhere in the ingame settings.
You can chose between “low”, “medium” and “high” if I am not mistaken
