I’ve been having issues running the game, checking if someone can help. As soon as I load into the game, I get pretty low FPS and all of a sudden my CPU goes to 97% load and all the audio on my PC stutters/turns robotic. Spotify, voice call, everything. Seems like it’s to the excessive CPU load. I am running: i7 6700k + GTX 1070, which seems to meet the recommended requirements.
For reference most other games I play: F1 2021, Overwatch etc. work just fine. Updated my drivers recently, didn’t help. Are there any settings I could try to fix this issue, or are my specs just not good enough?
For reference, despite the high CPU load, the temperatures seem fine/stable in their 70s, so doesn’t seem like it’s an overheating issue.
For reference, this is what all audio begins to sound like. Obviously the more going on on the screen, the worse it gets for all audio, and game/frames become super choppy. All settings lowest, doesn’t matter if I lower resolution and no settings changes have alleviated it so far.
So something that someone suggested to me and that worked partially:
Disable in game voice chat.
This seems to have fixed the audio stuttering shown in above video. FPS still very choppy, at least in town and CPU load super high, but the audio is at least not breaking up, and FPS a little more stable too.
I am having same CPU load issues in towns. Out in the world no CPU issues. 100fps. Go in a town cpu load goes to 97% and frames drop to 40. I have a I7-7700 and 3070
I am having the same issues as well. At it’s worst, the whole game drops to like 5 fps becoming nearly unplayable. I played on high settings during Closed beta with zero issues but I can’t run this game at even Low settings without this issue. I’ve updated all my drivers, I tried turning off voice chat as you mentioned but I’m having these issues even in open world (not in towns). I can’t find a solution anywhere.
When these issues occur, my CPU (according to Task Manager) spikes to 100% then immediately drops to around 38%, my GPU also drops to around 10%. During the drop, the issues mentioned above occur until the CPU goes back up again. This has happened as frequent as twice per minute.
the game seems to have some kind of communication failure between the gpu and the cpu.
i play with i5-9600k and rtx 2070 in the cities the game becomes unplayable when reaching 100% cpu usage and the gpu drops to 40-35% with fps limited to 60, no matter if i modify graphics options, i hope they fix it because i like the game but as a precaution not to destroy my cpu i will stop playing it until they fix it.
Edit: I don’t know if it will help you but I have solved the problem a little bit this way:
rescaling the game to 4k resolution with nvidia dsr and limiting with msi afterburner the fps to 33. The game now does a better management of the gpu and cpu, it’s not the best solution because you play at 30 fps but for the moment it’s the best option I’ve found.
I got the same issue. From time to time out of nowhere my fps drops below 30 or sometimes even below 20 and the sound crashes. I just created a ticket, linked this thread and I hope that Amazon can tell me what to do to fix it.
I have rtx 2060 / i5-9600K and also cannot normally play. CPU usage is very high. Even if you limit your CPU in power plan management settings, (min 95% / max 95%), it doesn’t solve the problem. It seems that our PC configuration is problematic with this game. I tried literally everything… Nothing helps.
updated nvidia drivers
updated SSD drivers
moved game to different SSD
added another 16 GB RAM (now have 32)
updated BIOS to the newest version
activated game mode in Win10
deactivated Xbox Game Bar
turned off / on virtual memory
disabled Intel turbo boost
tried all possible setups in Nvidia Panel for 3d applications
I even reinstalled the Windows to be sure that this is not connected with some apps/ services working in the background.
The worst are not cities but Teritory Wars and Outpoost Rush. The game is hardly playable by this video stuttering. I saw some other videos on youtube with similar to mine FPS, and THERE WAS NO STUTTERING. I don’t have any other ideas.
I don’t know if this will help anyone, but it helped me with the high cpu and gpu usage. I had tried every conceivable fix I saw and nothing was working. As a last resort, I turned vsync off and both cpu and gpu went to normal ranges. Both are running at less than 50% while in towns or in open world. Visual settings are medium with fps capped at 60.
