The endgame inventory managing is a patience effort… It’s really bothersome and makes the game not really enjoyable.
The Issue Explained
I’ll give examples of when you need to swap gear, if you want to have the best performance:
- You join Outpost Rush/War, you swap each piece of your gear into PvP ones.
- You go outside farm resources, you swap each piece of your gear for the specific type of gathering, including fishing.
- You go farm mobs/chests/expeditions, you swap each piece of your gear for Luck bonus.
- You go into an Invasion/challenging PvE fight, you equip each piece of your highest performing.
- You want to process something? You equip the parts of gear you have for that type of processing.
- You want to craft the best gear possible? You equip each part individually of
See the pattern? It’s not fun.
I’ll give the two more common solutions that other games have deployed over the years:
Suggestion 1: Allow us to name and save sets in the Equipment Screen
It can either be located above your equipment loadout, or be a tab on the Inventory. This is how most games I know of handle it. And this is what the WoW community did several years ago with add-ons as well (praise the Outfitter!).
Suggestion 2: Save multiple sets at once to be swapped automatically for different tasks
That’s how FF XIV handles it. Once you equip a tool, your whole set of gear is swapped to the according task. This would apply to trade skills only, and it would feel a bit unnatural if you automatically got your suit of gear swapped just by dragging your sickle or lumberjack axe out.
Conclusion
Please do something about it, and quick. Lots of people hate this issue, and it really makes the flow of the game annoying and boring.
Nonetheless, thank you for the hard work, especially you people from the team that reads through feedback on the forums!
