I’ll still stick with the idea i posted a week ago to simply just play the music afk style, meaning you have a drop down to play it by doing keys, or just play it to listen to.
I think the point is to make sure that people that are playing music have those keyboard skills. AFK style really detract from the skill? I would expect someone to be making it happen.
Regardless of this, a 10GP tip is measly compared to the cost and effort spent.
Going to keep bumping this a while, so a new skill doesn’t become useless as a means to make some coinage.
Music is a useless skill to the vast preponderance of players. A faction buff? Garhering buff? You’re lucky to get 10 bucks.

Acoustic folk musicians having spare change thrown at them as townsfolk generally ignore their work is one of the most realistic and immersive parts of new world. If you all started making real gold it would be too farfetched for even the most high fantasy mmos.

The only difference is the buff in the game is more than just music. It gives the player an advantage. I liken it to purchasing infused potions, or other items on the market, So it really should be relative and commensurate with the performer.
However; people will abuse it, so something that feels good baseline is 50GP,
Can always ask players to trade you the coin before you play.
It’s still optional if they want to tip. That is a possible solution but seems like this could be automatic.
The tip should be commensurate to the skill level and star rating.
Example: Novice 1 star 10 gold. Expert 5 star 100 gold.
That would be a more fair system.
I think there should be a sliding scale. I don’t like hearing you break strings. sorry

I’m fine with letting players just choose their own tip amount, if I can also turn off the tip screen in the middle of my screen.
would be great ! 10g doesn’t do much it event wont tickle for the prices that some instruments are ! 50 g ? id say minimum 100g or give people choice 50g, 100g and maybe 200g

I agree and as a bard, I wish that people could have the option to vote for the songs that I pick, how well I play, and my various performing outfits via slide scale tip!
