After the Winter Festival patch, stutters started. I had constant fps drops to around 10 fps, even at the lowest visual preset. Before the winter event update, I could play with 40-60fps fine on high settings. Now I also constant input latency at around 250-300ms

The lag persist. Even after the patch. Has been like 2 weeks with this unolayable lag.
I have visual and audio stuttering. ~15 FPS. Started on Monday. Game takes ages to log in. Hoping the issue is fixed soon!

PC on performance mode. GPU (ASUS)2080S, CPU i9-9900k. 32GB of DDR4 3000Mhz RAM, MSI Carbon 390z mobo. Running OS from m.2 nvme. Running Game files from 2TB SSD.
All relevant ports open. little to no background streaming and download/upload activity.
Stress tested my network line, nothing wrong there. Checked for faults at my local cabinet and exchange. No issues there either.
Yet for the past 2 weeks, conditions on New World and New World alone have deteriorated.
Checked to see if my ISP are blocking anything my end, or line throttling. All checked out clean.
I remember when I started playing in US East my latency was 85. Now it’s double that.
Checked all router settings as well and everything checks out there, too.
As stated previously, other games are working perfectly fine with europe connectivity ranging latency of 7ms to 20ms.
US latency ranging from 70-90ms.
Only on New World am I getting a US East latency of 180ms or worse.

Also, My line attenuation and noise margin range are most certainly in the green.
Edit: I forgot to mention my PC is also running from Ethernet connection directly to the network router.
- Describe what you were doing when it started to happen: The game had been running decently smoothly (playable) up until update 1.1.1 which also happened to be right when AWS shut down for a whole day. Ever since then the game had been constantly rubberbanding and saying “Lag Detected.” I had about 7+ days played before this became an issue and currently have a 1GB internet plan that is on an ethernet cable, not wifi. GTX 1080 with up-to-date drivers.

Soooooo I swear I am seeing way to many ads for this to still be a thing. Just back for my monthly check in on this. Ya know … one day they’ll fix it, right?
still not fix for “Lag Detected.” issues?
Not a single response bro. Look how important are the player base to AGS.

Apparently AWS fixed the problem with their us-west servers and i don’t experience any weird huge spikes from the s3 bucket anymore. But since the winter update yesterday all my data is send to US servers now (Wichita Kansas), leaving me with a more or less constant 260ms latency now from the former 160ish i had when my data was send to south american servers… (Playing from Peru countryside is never easy)
I guess i don’t have to tell you guys that playing on a ping like that i useless, as my character is just rubber banding around all the time when harvesting, skinning or whatever action.
Why the hell am i even playing on a SA server when all my data is being send and received from another continent?
Can any dev explain me this?
- Describe what you were doing when it started to happen: I get constant freezes at random. Does not matter what I am doing. Running, fighting, idleing. Screen will freeze up for about 2 seconds and will resolve afterwards. Started right after the most recent patch. 1.05.
lots of ping spikes…been recording it as proof - World ID: Hellheim.

Not sure if this will help anyone but I used an ethernet cable to plug directly into my router instead of going wireless and it worked and my game was fixed. Went back up to 60fps. Not sure if plugging it in reset my ethernet adapter or what but my game is fine now.
This happened from the time I logged in. I’d try to walk in a direction, using the W, for example and I’d move several steps in the right direction, albeit in a laggy, stuttering fashion and then move in reverse.
I managed to recall to the inn in Brightwood and when I’d try to walk, using the W key, it would move me forward and to the left until I lagged into a corner.
On the plus side, I did manage to eventually work my way to picking up a present and turning in some town board missions, but this state is frankly unplayable.

I still got “Lag Detected” when im opened my storage and got huge bandwith from the game that broke my internet.
like jamsd.weiss said im also got from s3 us west when im just playing from AP Servers.
please fix this, the game literally unplayable for me right now.

first video was on low bandwidth and the second was high… feels no different for me.
You can see the input latency and FPS for both video… nothing is a red flag other than the game’s performance in OPR-and everywhere else too. I also get really bad rubber banding every now and then, more noticeable with heavy attacks that should be able to hit said target in range, just to rubber band back from the magnetic mechanic.
It’s really bad though, I honestly can’t enjoy a win or loss anymore, even if I did a good match statistic wise, it felt bad doing it. ![]()
Can you please give this a try, see if it helps at all with the Network related Lag Spikes (not graphics/fps issues) https://forums.newworld.com/t/a-possible-fix-for-the-network-lag-issues-worked-for-me/649121
i dont even remember when it start, just high latency in general, and high spikes when i interact with another players (fights), even in a simply duel, my character just “teleport” everytime, and also obviously the enemy.

I just wanted to give an update to my former post up there.
Today i logged in again into my main account in SA-Irkalla just to experience again some huge spikes of data sent from the s3 bucket. And still with a horrible ping of around 260 to the Brazilian server here from peru. Resource manager still telling me that all my data is sent to the USA and from there probably to the SA database which of course would explain the high ping. And to conclude that, i logged into an account i created a couple of weeks ago in US West. Result is that to that server i have a ping of 160! but of course there is no need to send my data to another continent so for me right now it is more playable connecting to a server on another continent than on my own because all my data is routed thru that other continent anyway
That is just not acceptable. AWS supposingly the best and biggest server provider on the world cant figure out the routing of their own game
That is so ridiculous u cant even play in ur own continent when u have server there. I think i found a fix to the data being sent to other servers, check my last post on this thread, try it and let us know if it works for you. (blocking gamecrashuploader.exe in firewall)
When it happens: In cities, during combat, and during travel (it didn’t seem to matter if lots of folks were around or not.) Lots of stuttering and rubber-banding when it happens.

I was on Eupanan, but was merged into Trapalanda. This was not an issue at all for me on Eupana, but started after the server-merge, which also happened to be the same day the 1.2 patch rolled out. Soo, not sure which one is causing the problem. But, for the few hours of 1.2 on Eupana before the transfer, I had no issues.
