High levels (40-60) in low level (1-25) areas

Weavers fen, for example. No fiber, no iron/silver/gold ore, no clean water, not a lot of any real harvesting, unless you like those spore mushrooms.

There is multiple reasons for this; Primarily, the gathering nodes in low level areas are plenty, and none of them are floating in the air where you can’t gather them.

These tier 1 resources are required for making all refined materials.

The high level areas have less of them, and they are harder to gather because of them being glitched or the unclosable corruption breaches(bug where you can’t use your azoth staff on them) have despawned them.

And overall the endgame is just not there, it’s either removed or barely playable, so many of the high levels have resorted to grinding out their trade skills.

Not really it brings life to areas still after you’ve levelled up. What makes OSRS so great is that there’s players everywhere doing something.

I am sure that you said something profound, but sadly I am not equipped to comprehend it and google is not so great at translating it either.
It appears that you are mentioning a ‘Legendary’ weapon that can only be acquired in the low level areas and the fact that almost all smithing requires ‘iron ore’ as a foundation to greater metallurgy.

The other reason is the PVP quests to gain influence to start a war for the zone.

Its kind of a good thing to stop zones from being completely dead.

press V,and yell out,lol

And don’t forget every zone has 300 zone level to grind for with the townboards or at least level 30 for the biggest house. For that you need enormous masses of resources too.

The level ranges of the zones don’t really mean as much as they do in other games. You could level to 60 in a 1-25 zone doing repeatable quests and/or portals if you really wanted to.

The nightmare that is leveling crafting also requires enormous amounts of low level mats. There are low level mat nodes in the higher level zones as well, so it can be better to go there for them if there’s fewer people around.

If you’re farming faction tokens you might feel like farming them in an easier zone if you can do them a lot faster or just don’t want to deal with the more annoying mobs in higher level zones. The level 60 faction gear is really good when you first get to 60 (and most people aren’t going to be crafting 600 ilvl gear anytime soon).

Every zone with standing may give you a reason to farm there for a very long time just for standing if you’re after cheaper taxes and what not. Standing per zone caps at 300 and would takes months of farming in a single zone to get to.

Working on upgrading the settlement in major zones is also a thing.

High-level characters staying active throughout the map is a good thing.

They should probably just remove the level numbers from the map.

I highly doubt that you’re having an issue finding resources. Those trees, rocks and herbs respawn very quickly no matter how many people are in the area. I have yet to run across any area in the game that doesn’t have trees.

It’s a result of having one of the weirdest and poorly designed crafting systems in MMO history. Everything feels relatively fluid up until level 25-30, then it falls off a cliff as it takes hundreds of iron ore to gain a single level of Weaponsmithing, for example. Harvesting is no better, in level 60 zones, finding the zone specific flowers and herbs will net you 49 harvesting exp. Yet Hemp/Herbs in a level 1 area will give you 100+. The crafting and gathering system is so backwards.

To give you an example of how insane it is, one single craft of a greataxe at Weaponsmithing lvl 187 requires 4800 iron ore. Iron ore is the most valuable ore on the server. All T1 materials are probably going to be more valuable than anything above, because of the egregious T1 costs to everything.

well, territory wars is one reason, gathering resources is second reason, I guess there are more

it is bec of the resources most iron most fiber most raw hide are at the starting zone and you need a fuck ton for the endgame

the game is trying to have all zones relevant for all levels. The game is also designed to have resources competition as a thing.

lower level resources respawn quicker, and are more common.

in spite of that, i can tell you on the whole, there is a lot less competition for resources than there used to be in starter areas.

overall, with the territory based gameplay, every zone needs to have valuable resources, and not just based on level.

not exactly, these numbers are a bit effected by refining gear/items.

also, lets be real, 4800 iron ore is not that long in this game, each outcrop is like 100-150 ore

I’m one of those “high levels” in a low level area.
I am “high level” because Town Board missions are ridiculous. But I like to do them because they help advance my crafting.
My gear is still low level because I haven’t gone to those “high level” areas yet.
And I am still working on Main Quest and Side Quests that are in those “low level” areas.

Story players go where the story is, not where their levels are. I’m level 56 and still working on First Light town sidequests. Will move to the next starter city to do those sidequests there next. Gonna be in lowbie zones for a long time.
Fine being undergeared and in fact learning all weapons by using only whatever drops for me. If I were to try going to Ebonreach I’d be severely undergeared and it’d be too hard.

There is already incentive for high level players to go to high level areas – better material drops, higher density of higher-tier materials.

This is no longer a week one situation where the low level zones are flooded with new players. On my US East server the surrounding area is nicely very lightly populated so resources are much less contested by everyone.

As well, even some low-level players are crafters and harvesters. I’ve seen an under-30 mine Orichalcum.

I tried to do a quest by myself, low level… but the respawn rate has made it impossible for me to complete.
As soon as I clear out the area to be able to kill the boss, they start respawning again, and they just murder me.
It’s the same for the Amrine quest (forgive the spelling), I can’t get anyone to run this with me and I am level 29. I have been trying for many days… I am in a guild, but they seem to only play with people whose characters are over 30… So waiting for others to do that quest is now unlikely as they have all moved on to greater things.
All of this is mainly due to servers being closed and therefore there is a lack of newer players. This will kill the game.

Back to topic… I think that you should get more resources every time you ‘farm’ in the higher-level areas. EG: skinning an animal should give you twice as much meat and hide than in the lower level areas.
This would give incentives to higher-level characters to stay in high-level areas.
If they want to … lol

You mean to tell me that there are no Arena’s, expeditions or outpost rush’s for level 60’s to do? Damn! I’ve been duped.
