I first experienced this issue back in December '21 when AWS had network outages and had to do some “re-routing” ever since then (on multiple PC’s) I get outlandishly high ping on US West El-dorado. The odd thing is, some days when I load into the game i’m at 60 ping, and when i’m looking at server selection its 60sih aswell. But most days I am at 140-150 ingame.
If I use a VPN I get about 80-90. Multiple people that I have spoken to in my state who plays NW and has the same ISP are reporting similar ping. I spoke with my ISP, we networked traced, used AWS latency tests and it shows that 150 ping is abnormal. New World is the only game I experience these issues. Valarant is 50-60, Wow 60, GW2 50.
IS there anythin gI can do? Even running a VPN isn’t ideal, i still notice latency in PVP
I am sorry to hear that your’re having latency issues while in-game, I know you may have already gone trough this troubleshooting but make sure to double check you have tried all the steps here:
I will report the issue with the ping to check if we have more information on this error.
I’ve done the troubleshooting. Like I said, this started in December during AWS outages What Can We Learn from AWS’s December Outagepalooza?. For now, i’ll continue to keep using my VPN and hold my breathe for something to get figured out. =)
ive had this problem since launch and Im on 1GBPS fiber. I get 150ms ping to US east servers in this game but any other game its 20 or below. I get a 120ms ping to Japan servers in apex legends and Im near Dallas TX
