High skill builds should be more rewarding

Not sure if you try sns hatchet has a very small hit box compare to GA/wh and only shine in 1vs1.

What’s really skill-less are aoe. You don’t need to aim and some aoe are very wide like WH /IG/GA. I understand E need large qoe but they should hit hard or cc you to hell

And you have to do that from like 10 yards away.

Harder than musket or bow in that regard.

I’m sorry did you just say that HATCHET/SNS is less skill based??? Hatchet and SnS??

Ice Gauntlet, Hammer, Great Axe, Rapier, Life Staff - these are the weapons that are low skill cap and highly effective.

That’s not to say some are not better than others at these weapons but that New World rewards forgiving playstyles.

New World balance devs have decided this is the meta. High skill builds are never going to be more rewarding. We’re just going to have to live with that and I’ve lived with it by going back to League of Legends. New World is now a PvE only game for me. Once the people I know leave it, I’ll be leaving as well.

Kind of feel like adding Fire Staff to the list given its generous hitboxes but whatever. I’ll leave it off for now.

Leaping strike, shield bash, feral rush = dead or close to dead

Naw man, try it out. I bet medium 150 con will also get killed if the person has the right perks. Even if they don’t die from feral rush root right away they use berserk and finish you easily.

Ranged is more skillful, and for melee rapier if you are using it offensively. You can’t just LMB rapier.

I remeber some one trying this on me or something similar with hatchet/sns and i dont remeber it ever killing me. Im med 150

Ofc you could win but not in fair fight xd It was impossible, but with grailseeker rooting or throwing him into mobs u could win easily in 1v1. But still there is a way to do it.

I wrote later dex build are not dedicated to lbm. GA is due to long cooldowns this weapon is made to be lbm weapon on spear u have almost 0 cooldown and spear player should use it in fight. But ofc I hope you know I mean 1v1 in mass pvp any compare are senseless it is never fair fight.

How low con are you to be that close to death already with that combo? If that’s what kills you then that’s a build problem.

If you get feral rush’d while stun you can still fight back since it’s only a couple seconds of root not to mention they are fighting at extreme close range. Spear, WH/GA, IG/VG etc all has CCs and counter. If you lose to that player using SnS and Hatchet then maybe he is the better player? Nothing bad in that and I’m not shitting on that SnS/Hatchet player and you specifically, but it really depends on the builds, playstyle and counter-play when it comes to fighting against SnS/Hatchet.

The testing I did was during the time shield perks were stacking on secondary bug.

I play in full freedom resilient gear 150 con, the combination still removes most of my health and if I do not get away after feral rush they just use berserk to stay on top of me.

So maybe it’s not as OP as I originally believed but I still think SnS leaping strike should be tweaked and shield bash stun should be lowered.
