Hitscan needs to go

It is insanely broken and was a horrible idea adding it. Remove it, and reduce the range to gun equal to that of bow.

yup, and it should technically hurt armored folks moreso than light armored folks, what with tumbling, since we have what looks to be some kind of modern-design looking round instead of a round ball.

It’s a .577-450. Would fuck you up pretty good, and wouldn’t give a shit about what armor you or the guy behind you is wearing.

The musket is not a musket, it’s a .577-450 martini Henry with with flintlock stuck on top.

Remove GA and make it melee only with no running. Who runs with that thing lugging behidn them?

Rapiers were invented by Spanish & also used a lot by Italians.

But it was used by the French, and thus is tainted. Delete

Replace the hitscan with a projectile, it has better range, less drop off and the projectiles move much faster than the bow. But, the musket has less mobility overall.

Musket should penetrate armor. IDK why it doesn’t.

Why developers keep making the mistake of adding hitscan we will never know. Maybe it’s just easier.

at the ranges we play? What difference would it make to a BULLET?
I’m a practicing archer IRL (still noob) and there is a noticable droop in 30m. how much of a droop would ANY bullet experience in any of the distances we deal with in NW?
(btw, I think the droop in NW for arrows is too much… compared to RL)

LOL, the musket only has that going for it. It’s horrible in PvE and has no AoE or Mobility. Your argument is to make it completely useless because someone killed you with a musket…

Oh it’s easier. It’s just a single ray cast. In UE4 it’s the simplest thing you can do. Takes like 5 seconds to set up.

No it shouldn’t that is why they use sapi plates in real life body armor to stop bullets. Bullets should do less damage to armored targets and more to light armor but overall they over buffed the rifles and need to bring the damage down slightly but keep them viable.

There is a few major differences between hitscan and a projectile. They are

  • They are instant damage
    • Hitscan is unavoidabile due to this reason.
  • Depending on the setup, resources (calculations) are a concern.
  • Hitscan enables gun to have extreme ranges, which makes the bow/gun play very much
    unable to be countered. This is causing extreme amounts of ranged weapons. The range on gun needs to be brought down to bow ranges.
    Yes, both need damage buffs, btw. Bow however needs more works because of its talents.

Simply put, ranged weapons need to have damage dropoff where the further the target is the less damage projectiles do, especially musket in particular over the other ranged weapons. Even competitive games like CSGO have this mechanic.

I don’t know about a fall off damage. That defeats the purpose i think for a game that is not entirely ranged based.

All that needs to happen is gun needs to be changed over to projectil, its ranged reduced to equal to bow, and bow needs a more straight, faster arrow.
