And bows do much higher burst damage, have much better AOE, have more usable CC, and have more mobility. And though bows are decidedly better at close range (as intended) at least pre 1.1, I would still definitely agree to a buff to arrow speed. They should definitely fix the bow and put it in pre 1.1 state in terms of usability
I just disagree with idea that RNG needs to be added to the musket. I’d be fine with bullet drop and travel speed, as long as it’s consistent and the other changes I suggested were added.
Hit scan for musket needs to go along with the accuracy bonus. (bring on the crying and screaming of the gamers that want ez mode)
However, it’s a long range weapon that should excel at range and should have more range and a much faster projectile than the bow. Up close and personal to max short range it should be less effective than it is currently. Maybe add a min distance to achieve full damage. Something about a cake and eating it…
I dont mind getting sniped at a distance. I beleive that is what is intended. To assist in shorter range skirmishes, make the grenade and traps able to be used while running at full speed with a deep tree talent and give the grenade a better tartgeting system.

Musket should be the more damaging. Just… sence. Any bullet from any time was more damaging than any arrow ever was.
Unless you have game reasons for it not being more damaging.
First, stop using realism to make balance changes in game where it doesn’t make sense. New World is a fantasy game, there is no need to balance based on how muskets work IRL.
And second, of course there’s a reason for musket to do less damage than bow - it’s hitscan. And if they ever remove hitscan, it will almost certainly have a faster projectile speed than the bow.
What are you talking about? The bow a lot does more damage than the musket in the current statae. So I said if we remove hitscan, increase musket damage to be just below the bow, since musket would have a faster projectile. Do you lack basic reading comprehension?
Faster projectile = easier weapon = should do less damage. Hitscan takes that to the extreme, which is why musket does a lot less damage than the bow.
The musket does have a drop off range . That is why there is a skill to remove that drop-off
As a musket user. Remove the passive double the muskets range of what the bow is for full damage and call it a day and add a new passive
This is a confirmed deal? Or still what was viewed in the farmed data? In other words, the Blunderbuss may never happen until it is official stated it will happen, and then this brings me to my question about why Void Guantlet was implemented over it as I personally believe it would have helped the Dexterity players more then Void helped Life Staff players.
Maybe you need to play against better players, because in my experience there is no position from which I can shoot a bow user that they can’t hit me back. Unlike magic projectiles, the arrow persists until it lands.
