Wow I didn’t know this because I’ve been gone a while but whoever is in charge over there at AGS should eat shit and die.
Modern day MMO’s, you know like in the last 10-15 years, DAOC (22), Ultima (25) and EQ (23) (I don’t even remember it having pvp), are basically dead games, although EQ was my first MMO
Current viewers on Twitch DAOC 15, Ultima 76, Eq 366, real top of the line MMO’s you picked there LMAO
How incentives work in OPR:
When I realise that I’m on the losing team, I just go farm trees and ore:
-It helps the game end faster
-I get logging and mining experience
What do you want bad / losing players to do ? Once you know the answer to that question , you can build a system that incentivised their behaviour.
You’re so damn stupid… those games aren’t dead, you’re playing a game that has concepts that live on throughout gaming history… you’re even more stupid if you think NW was or ESO was first to strike at this 3 way system…
that’s why every MMO game you’ve ever played has their ideals/concepts somewhere embedded into the game. get gud bud… you’re something else man. you need back of the head slapped by an older man-like figure. YoU MakInG thReAtS noW!!! I bet you’re always complaining about shit irl… one of those people who legit ram a remote somewhere they shouldn’t when they lose in a 1v1 vs anything as a healer… lmao
It’s cool now. Does not even mattr much any more if you lose or win. As long as you play well and put in work.
I get 2000 pvp xp and 1000 salt for a lost OPR, very nice. Like it.
If these were good games people would be playing them and also watching them on Twitch, they’re not, this is a fact. I’ve tried going back to Everquest and WoW classic, and guess what they both sucked when comparing them to modern day mmo’s, crap graphics, crap UI, crap controls, crap content, crap games. You will always think you are right because you’re living 25 years in the past. As for needing someone to slap me I’d like to see you try, I served 20 years and know how to defend myself, specially against keyboard warriors like yourself.
If I were designing it, points would be awarded solely from ownership of capture points.
If players want “WINNER TAKE ALL”, that’s fine, but everyone solo queue’s and teams are randomized. No premades.
That makes it competitive and fair.
Yep, points should be given for taking forts (Sun, Moon, Star) and for defending forts. So far it would be the only way to stop ppl be forest monkeys for DMG.
But as long the major point scale is based on how much DMG u do, things will never change.
Also N button should be removed during match. I know some ppl join for Gypsum, but this is not an excuse to get 500 points then to macro afk a whole match.
See, I think personal scores should be eliminated altogether. It actually encourages the dumbest and most cowardly play…take the least risk, play as safe as possible, shoot from a distance through the door and never try to capture or defend a point.
Oh…and don’t heal. Healing gets you nothing compared to DPS.
Then they think they are good players, while the players that actually do the work and carry the team, fight the hard fights, capture the forts, get the worst scores, because they die.
Well yeah, if for example u start from Moon and u go alone to Star to help ur team, u will have poop score at the end. Cuz capture gives low points and also u spend some time running.
While on the other hand forest monkeys getting top 10 and calling themself the best.
The copium is strong in you 2 guys.
The game is based off of capture and hold, but the scoring system discourages that, and rewards the worst players in regards to obejctive and team gameplay, while punishing the best players in regards to capturing objectives and doing what is best for the team.
If points for damage and kills are given, it should be ONLY for damage and kills that take place within the forts and the Baroness cave…actual objectives.
No points should be awarded for killing NPC’s. chopping trees, or putting resources in forts.
You don*t get to top 3 without fighting on the point.
Period.
And if someone kills 20 people outside, that is 20 from the enemy that are not on the point because dead. And the rest can cap easier.
I strongly agree.
Many games have been lost because some %&&$ closed our fort doors.
I hate doors, they killed me many times. I don’t like to wait 1 second to press “E”.
You miss a lot of points my friend :
-
You and I might be from the same generation, cause we’ve common references, but that’s not the case of the majority of players.
-
You say WoW is garbage but WoW is alive (and really active) for 17 years now.
-
Of course Dark Age of Camelot was a great game at its time, and it worked (in term of business I mean) as they were the first ones. But, reality is that, all the games that tried the same approch of the 3 games you mention at first died Quickly. It’s time to evolve, those games even with graphical updates would die in few month if they were release now.

Your vision, is the vision of a past generation and a minority of players that can’t sustain on its own an MMO RPG now a days.
Like it or not WoW is the reference of the genra, without WoW you would never had the golden age of MMO RPG.
By the way I’m not agree on your vision of WoW, you talk about vanilla, but except for guild like mine that actualy clean all the content, at that time the game wasn’t hard, I mean first real boss with mechanics comes at AQ40 and they were not complex.
Raid in TBC were a lot more complex, and the complexity of raids was increased with any expansion. You’re not of good faith on those arguments.
Try to be realistic, time have changed.
lol my guy, they’re old… name an mmo game made 20 years ago that even has a population today… free shards/live… you’re playing a game that already took it’s concepts lolol but nah it’s ded
because everyone wants qol and hand holding… it’s not the game but as you stated, that generation… now all we have is carebears that rage drool on you lol
realistic? welp… here we are… in a forum whereas this community is actively ruining this game too. this new generation of gamers is the problem…
That’s true not only in game, it’s the same at work, now a day young people want everything now, with the less effort possible.
Man speaking facts my entire guild quit when expertise forced them to grind pve to catch up. They all quit cause the pve isn’t even good. Pvpers don’t want to pve let alone grind pve thet is sub par. This games base was pvp. Ya blew it.
Equality of outcome vs putting in the work to get said rewards… it sucks cause it’s becoming normalized to where it’s just going to be a whole generation of nerd rage drooling cry babies that need their hands held through life AND in-game…
Which in turn makes me nerd rage drool on them for being so stupid. but I don’t mind XD
