The OP states they got notification and a warning.
I agree, that sucks. If AGS wont change, then the players must.
Players unwilling to change and AGS unwilling to change creates these issues. You can be part of the solution or the problem.
Just for the record we got the notification of the update after the war was already declared and set. Nothing we can do at that point.
