House Refund After Server Deletion

A group of us played at launch and several of us continued to play for a few months. I would say the bots and complicated, limited storage options is what finally made us stop playing.

We logged on again tonight, only to find our server had been deleted and we needed to choose another. With nothing to go on but server population, we just chose a low pop server and jumped in, excited to revisit the game and see what has changed.

We immediately noticed that a different faction controls nearly the entire map, including the city where our houses are. We would like to have our houses in the one and only city our faction controls, but we would only get a half-refund on our present house. This means we cannot buy the same size house in the new city. Or we could, but would be left with no money.

All this leaves us having to choose between living in a city not controlled by our faction or downsizing and dealing with the same storage issues that drove us away. All on a map entirely dominated by an opposing faction.

I know there are other threads on this topic, but I think players should get a full house refund when their server is deleted. We have no control over where we end up, after all. It’s forcing players to join the dominant faction, which is probably how this entire world ended up being controlled by one faction?

I’m just not going back to the frustration of trying to wrangle storage and crafting across the entire map.

This is incorrect. You were simply detached due to 6 months of inactivity. More details about that here:

I imagine if you left the server for 6+ months, the faction control would be changed. I’d be more shocked if it looked the same honestly.

I personally own all of my houses in territories that aren’t my faction. They were originally, but that’s just how it shakes out. With the newer tax changes it really doesn’t matter who owns it as long as they are actively doing town buffs.

I… have no idea what this has to do with anything. I would agree in the other threads where the physical look of the house changes or a massive wall is added behind it, but I’m unsure why faction control changing should lead to a refund. It naturally happens on servers all the time.

Purple had 0 territories on my map a week ago, they have 5 now due to transfers.
