It seems ridiculous to me that you’re taxed 6 times a month at up to 20%. This really needs to be looked at. At a minimum taxes should be MONTHLY or the rates FAR lower if you’re going to keep them every 5 days. We shouldn’t have to pay the entire value of the house every month to keep it.
I agree.
Why am I paying 700-1000 gold a week for a house that costed 5000 gold? What’s the benefit besides having a little extra storage, (only 1 storage unit for a Tier 1) house. I’d much rather utilize each settlements FREE 1000lb storage units than a terrible in-house, 200lb unit.
Completely agree.
I understand that we get great revenue from taxes with our territories… But this is ridiculous for everyone.
Especially with the coin economy in this game having no reliable coin injections.
If you fixed the deflationary economy with additional ways to create new coin in the world then frequent taxes would make sense.
As is stands, paying taxes is quite useless.
On my server at least the majority of taxes in windward comes from trading then crafting. If taxes were fixed the loss in taxes would probably be offset by more people owning houses and paying taxes.
Well, trophies are kinda nice
I really don’t think this game was thought through at all, not for the casual players for sure.
Property tax every 5 days x 3 homes for FT and buffs. Not everyone can play daily and then when they do get to play have to work to pay off taxes in game too.
Game said 50% off first house and taxes, so obv best to buy the expensive one first. Wrong. House was 50% off but only first tax payment was 50%. Its now 1500 per 5 day and this is just house number 1. I now walk everywhere and no buffs anymore, altho I’m not concerned about the buffs as I have very little confidence that they work anyway going by the state of the game.
I really am struggling to find reason to contiue playing this game. I might be done.
Storage space is a premium perk these days.
Fast traveling to a “home” while keep your Inn set to the zone you’re questing in is a HUGE improvement to one’s ability to get around the map.
To me, these benefits totally justify the cost. If you’re paying 20% taxes, you should consider moving (agree 20% is a lot, but it’s also part of the game design).
All this being said, I do advocate that they reduce the cost for casual players. Maybe taxes could be based on “online time” instead of “RL calendar time”. Because it’s REALLY tough to enjoy a house if you only play 4 hours, two days a week. You simply can’t afford it. But the folks no-lifing this game [should] have plenty of coin. And they “use” the house way more than a casual.
