House taxes, back to 10% for us all

You’re very much right, the tax will be 10% and more players will say “fuck this” and uninstall. The rest of the replies is pure copium.

It will do no such thing. Players will be out the cash paid for original house, therefore they will not move. Few people will give up both cash & convenience to make a political statement to someone who doesn’t give a damn.
Until AGS offers a way to move housing without eating the original cost, the tax issue is just deckchairs on the Titanic. Doesn’t matter if the tax rate is 2, 5 10 or 20 percent.

No… The whole time on our server we just had some troll towns with 20%, but 99% of the time the used max was 10%.
It makes sense to set a minimum and a maximum tax.

Make your own.
And don’t say you can’t because it’s not like it’s difficult.

Mega companies are printing money, inflation, gold sellers everywhere. ags should immediately reduce all taxes by 90%

Might be remembering wrong but I’m sure that before we had all the house tax discounts, not all settlements had extreme taxes for housing.

i need a house for free tp and a storage so i can pay more taxes refining materials in stations i upgraded myself doing board missions, i also pay taxes while putting them on tp, i pay taxes selling them. so your point is, 2000c a week is a fair price for pushing one button by a company and thats what i should call great management? restless shore is not as popular as WW cause its not central zone, so you basically pay company for owning better placed zone, not for awesome management

It is not difficult but it is grindy to do boring portal Zerging. At least after todays patch that is sellable on marketplace so maybe the grind will go away. But the time-gates on crafting remains and time will tell if there will be a net profit or loss from crafting the orbs as I expect the price to go down.

Either way, todays patch, is a positive step in the right direction. Still does not make the issue of coin shortage go away. Solo players, not in a PvP company, and who does not like to grind crafting/gathering, should have a way to get coin. Killing level 60+ mobs, for example, should be a way to get coin but right now it gives you next to zero rewards.

I mentioned above that if you have a tier 4 house, you should have enough standing to have gotten a couple house tax discounts. And if that cost still bothers you, you can gain more standing to reduce the tax further.

I also stated that hypothetically even the highest tax for a t4 house is cheap when compared to the benefits that having a house grants you + the benefits of having that house in a well-managed territory that rotates good lifestyle buffs.

Simple put, you can’t get everything easy and for free. The house costs money and has a weekly tax. It is what it is. You get so much for that cost and weekly tax though. Very very worth it.

There are many ways to make coin, you just don’t want to do them. Also you don’t need a zerg for portals. A 5 man group can easily take them down in Shattered Mountain.
If you just run solo, you’re hindering yourself and don’t have much room to complain. Join a company, make some friends.

All MMOs have meaningful solo activities and this argument “make some friends” is just a tiresome non response. People who like to solo, also do grouping, it is not mutually exclusive. Both solo and group activities should be rewarding, solo arguably less so.

Not sure if you know about server merge?

You know when a server and another server really loves each other, they love each other so much that they just want to be together, you could say they want to become one with each other, and they forget about all the small “babies” they got… And the babies have no say in anything :frowning:

@pichu “outweigh even the high housing tax” well that’s not always the case now is it?
A casual player wont get coins enough to buy trophy, that he/she will benefit much from.

The taxes if they have a 20k house, may be a BIG amount of the coins they generate, again there are many casual players, not every one plays 168 hours a week, and i bet many probably bought a big house, and did not think about the huge % they then had to pay in Tax.

NOT every one have friends they play with.

NOT every one have a good Company they can join, not if they are just casual players.

No shit sharlock, its like saying the Ice Cream Truck makes money because people buy the ice.
But you do not really see why they are making money do you?
Look at the map, then look at what is beside them.

Windsward > Reekwater
Everfall - Reekwater - Ebonscale Reach
Brightwood - Ebonscale Reach - Greate Cleave - Edengrove

That is WHY people have houses there, that’s why people go there, it makes easy access to those areas, if you were to buy a house in Cutlass Keys, what is next that that? First Light and Monarch’s Bluff, not much around there, no point in having a “free” travel point.

But now that it is cheaper to travel, some may not care much, but abandoning a 20k house hmm yeah well, makes no sense since they will run 10% tax also.

@Acanis87 That’s not the way it worked on the first server, and i first came back after the merge, every zone at the beginning had decent taxes, so i thought yeah i can afford to farm for some houses, had a good income, but then after a little while, some towns raised the taxes to 20%, and shortly after every damn town had 20%. :frowning:
So my experience is, 20% if they can, then it was 2% every thing was 2%, now i bet when the servers comes up, it is 10%
I have not played on this server when it was anything but 2%, but again my experience is people want the most they can get, so telling people you can get 10% they want 10%

Nothing in this world is difficult, you just need to know how. For some 10 km is just a little run, for other 100 meters is not something they can do.

Just make so that they cant withdraw anything.
And that is what they did, from 20 > 2% and now back to 10%

I’ve explained this enough times in a couple different ways. I don’t appreciate you name calling and being toxic. You do you. Best of luck :v:

how much standing do i need to reduce 2k to 200 for example? i doubt you can even do that this year. the problem is “a well-managed territory” you defend doesnt exist as the company does almost nothing to run it properly, its players upgrading stations, players paying taxes for buffs, players defending invasions, there is no management at all. its not very very worth it. i can turn on 1 buff with almost only my housing tax, so defending that company is amazing cause it can turn on buffs that 10 ppl pay for and keep the rest of the money in company storage is kinda funny. you sound like a governor milking your server

You probably should not buy a tier 4 house if you aren’t prepared to pay the tax. But either way, to answer your question — you can probably figure it out by looking at max standing and seeing which perks are available at even/odd standing levels. There’s a pattern to the standing perks so you could calculate it that way.

Well, this is the game, it is what it is. Back to the original topic of you complaining about making coin. It’s not hard but you don’t want to take the necessary steps to make the coin you just want to b!tch about not making enough coin.
And you’re going to read this and reply with just another excuse of why you’re broke and why you solo.
Many other “solo” players are very wealthy in this game, yet you somehow can’t afford $1.5k for an expedition run. Strange.

This is a terrible view on not just games but anything in life. If something is not good then it should be improved, not just accepted. That is a defeatist attitude.

I did not say it is hard, it is not fun to grind boring crap like gathering/crafting, OPR etc. Coin should come from various activities, not just the one’s you enjoy. There are level 60+ mobs out there but no one bothers with them because they give next to zero rewards. Why?

This isn’t life, this is a game. People (developers) control it. YOU control YOUR life.

Again, this is the game that YOU decided to play. If you don’t like it, go play another one.
It really is that simple.
