Housing Taxes - AGS is showing untrusting behavior

This is the last straw for me. I can’t pay $1.3K on each of the three properties every week. This is a crazy bump, and this the property tax on a territory where I have over a level 65 influence and all property tax deductions.

Shut down the servers, fix the bugs, stop moving goalposts, and relaunch in the summer with fresh servers.

But for more constructive options:

Option 1: Remove Property Tax slider from Company control, provide a fixed fee property tax across all territories that can be modified, as it is already through territory reputation.

Option 2: Reduce the max property tax from 10% to 3%.

Option 3: Get rid of the initial cost of the house and refund players who bought a house.

Option 4: Change your TOS to indicate you are OK with toxic behavior.

Ciao!

It also appears that my territory standing after the update was decreased by 5 points. This was 64 prior to the update.

Now it’s 59.

And it appears they removed the percentages of discount from the territory information screen… so you can’t actually tell what your modifiers are. The screen below used to show exact numbers:

LOL — Like what the actual F?

So now you’re hiding the fact you decreased territory standing by removing the percentages…

AGS is being shady AF.

I wish I had a long, smart reply but I don’t. I have a three letter reply with a question mark.

Why?

That is the million-dollar question.

Damn I hope my WW standing hasn’t changed…

Very curious to know if anyone else lost standing…

Will check and let peeps know in a few when it done patching. My WW standing should be at 75. A bit low but I slacked off territory standing in favor of doing zergs to get my HWM up.

Same for me! After today’s patch I now have to pay 1,289 gold in Windsward where I have 120 Territory Standing.

This needs to be reviewed as it is way too expensive.

I went from 55 to 53 in Brightwood.
I dumped the house in Mourningdale (taxes maxed, dump!) and it still holds 55 status.
Wish i had checked that in Mourningdale before I dumped the house to see if it was lower

LOL take that up with the Territory owning company! They had the taxes maxed due to amazon still giving them the full gold amount. Either that or downsize your houses!

I only owned tier 1 houses.

Your taxes are high because the town owner likely had taxes set to max (2%) and have not logged on yet to fix it. Now that the Bezo’s tax break is over, that number went to 10%

Or, you have crap town owners who are gonna leave it at 10%.

You are complaining about taxes set by a territory which is owned by a company. Complain to them instead. Learn what your territory housing tax percentages are and post those here.

As someone who’s complained to territory owners multiple times, it’s worked exactly none of them.

Mine is, WTF?

AGS is so worried about toxic behavior, they build in controls allowing groups of people to be toxic AF in game.

The taxation system is neat… I like it. It’s a different spin…

But I can’t oust a company of the same faction. What should I do, faction swap my entire company?

Orrr… I could just uninstall the game and call it quits.

The latter seems like a better alternative for my mentality.

@NW_Mugsy needs to just shut down the servers… get everything polished, do a proper beta on the PTR… for MONTHS… and relaunch later this year.

Every update, something game-breaking happens.

I appreciate your most helpful response. Truly solid advice.

I never thought they would put the taxes back at 10% a week. Paying taxes to other players is the worst thing I ever seen in a game.

ahahahahahahahahaha you serf you fell for it .
I never bought houses and this is why .I did not want to log into a game to grind gold while others milk everfall windsward and or run bots / duped before .
Means i done run houses with trophies and silo myself out of drops / chest farming .
Easy to move on .

The problem I have is there’s this new generation of gamer who, I dunno, maybe all work at home for an hour a day. The rest of the time they pour into a game (ours, in this example), and this creates the rifts of hardcore to casual. That rift is most evident in something like companies. With no power, no influence and no resources, at least compared to them, I’m ultimately left to… just pray they have goodness in their hearts.

I don’t know how many of you have relied on human goodness of randoms, lately. I, for one, do not recommend the practice.
