20% taxes is friction. Killing 1 boss in a dungeon, completing 1 arena boss or even losing 1 OPR to pay 5 days of 1% housing rent is not friction.
The cost to own 3 map teleports from anywhere on the map is neglible to what it once was. Maximum 600g for 5 days of play is miniscule. That’s 3 respecs. Come on now.
Ancient Greeks, the democracy creators, was believing that the most negative part of this system is that everyone has their opinion . Included the idiots…
If you think that the house taxes (500 gold for 7 days) destroying the game, personally I don’t have something to tell you. Ancient Greeks have .
Addressed because it was friction. Steps to provide relief don’t change the definition. Water isn’t suddenly dry because there is less water, only when there is no water is a thing considered dry. #nonargument#claimingvictoryontheintarwebziscool
I don’t truly understand your argument. Max you pay is 600 gold. That’s capped for 3 houses at maximum band. You get free inn recalls and trophy placement. Surely that needs to cost… something?
Sweet! The forum gatekeepers have arrived. This thread has been deemed unworthy. At least Kots didn’t whip out his ban suggestion wand yet. #vip#importantthings
The housing taxes were out of control and causing an immense amount of friction early on. The developers of New World listened to the community feedback and lowered them to a very sustainable level. The upkeep on towns isn’t free so removing housing taxes or forms of revenue for companies would require more than just removing taxes and there are far more pressing matters for them to address right now.
I think after the recent changes they have housing taxes in a really good spot for the time being. The taxes aren’t the issue really. If they asked me to pay 30 gold per week (small house tax) for a runestone that let me port back to the town I bought it in from anywhere once an hour, I would buy one for every town. That’s basically what the houses amount to for most players.
I think there are always optimizations that can be made but I personally would rather the devs focus on more important issues.
