Housing Tweaks Please

Anyone who owns houses in New World benefit greatly from them, but the process in which housing works seems like there are some holes with it. For instance you own a house in a territory maybe tier 1 and you want to upgrade your house (maybe now cause you’ve progressed in the game and are able to afford a bigger house), It would be nice to see some kick back or not be completely penalized for buying houses. Be nice to see something where if you want to upgrade a house from tier 1 to 2, maybe pay the difference with a 10% fee, or maybe you simply want to move to a new territory it would be nice to see a kickback of half of what you paid for the house when you abandon one.

I Think it would help with wanting to get a house earlier in the games progression and not feel like you’re just wasting money let the players able to grow and progress.

Also the whole having to have a house in a territory when a town buff is going on seems absurd can’t town buffs just be global to the community the town that has the buff would get to reap benefits from crafting taxes anyway i don’t get having to have a house in that territory.

I few like these few things being changed would help implement growth and people not feeling second guessing buying houses in places and give them the flexability to move and not be penalized to the fullest

Totally agree with a better system to allow people to move and upgrade more freely. Housing is unfortunately a big issue in terms of locking people into specific settlements. Having this easier but not overly easy helps alleviate people from locking into WW and EF forever.

I definitely like that having a house somewhere has meaning, so I do like the idea of having the buffs dependent on that. The issue is often territories are so much in flux and by doing this it ties people even more to WW and EF as I said above. Then of course this is abused by companies. So I think the change makes sense from that perspective.

Would love to see housing become more immersed into the game and interactive as well. But obviously not their top priority, but would be cool 6 months down the road.

i think id be more okay with having a house have meaning in a territory if they would change how some of the stations get downgraded, i feel they run way to many invasions and with their difficulty i think it makes it hard for some to keep them upgaded, i just would like to see less punishment to moving and make it feel more rewarding upgrading to different tier houses.

For stations upgrades I actually posted this feedback to make game more enjoyable for everyone

For housing I think they indeed should remove tax on it in the future.

Housing is something that should be enjoyable for players not something that feels like being punished to pay. Housing can still give weekly contributions to the cities they are in. And the bigger the house size the bigger it contributes.

They should also allow people to transfer their houses for a modest fee. This way if the governor of certain cities are mishandling their governance then people can move out and in a way punish bad governors by taking away a source of their city income. This will encourage better behaviour and competition among governors to attract tenants without punishing players.

i agree i don’t know about completely moving away from the taxes cause thats with the games mechanics in owning territories they will have them greatly reduced here by the end of this month, but i want to see it be able to more stuff being made and not being a hassle to have stuff being crafted but im right there with you on mostly everything.

Housing will still give gold to cities and the bigger the house the bigger amount of gold it gives. My suggestion just removes the extra hassle for all players in paying for their housing. The benefit to city owners is still there. This will encourage governors to be more receptive to tenants to convince people to settle and buy a house on their territories still since the more people settle in their cities the bigger income they still get.

With regard to the station upgrades I suggested it basically opens up all cities for people to settle in based on their preference instead of being forced to move in certain cities just to be able to conveniently craft and refine. Again the more active cities naturally will still have benefits than less developed ones. So the reason for owning cities and upgrading it is still there.
