There is literally no way to mitigate musket damage. How are these perk combinations even allowed? triple damage perks?
No way to mitigate musket damage? Have you heard of thrust gems, physical aversions and physical protection?
And btw you can get perks like that on every weapon
Uh no. I’m at 30% thurst, 3 pieces of physical aversion, 3 pieces of resilient, 10% void resist. The 15stacks of empower is overkill.

Dodging and moving unpredictably might be a good way to completely mitigate damage
thats not exactly how it works tho is it? since 50% dmg is converted to void and musket scales of INT + has elemental dmg increase through skilling INT you cant actually mitigate a lot of muskets dmg
If you walk behing something you mitigate 100% of the damage. Pro tip
If you put it that way then you cant mitigate most weapons damage. And you can literally just go behind a wall and they cant do anything to you
i might be wrong but its only 3 weapons no? musket, rapier and bb. no other physical dmg weapon scales off that high off INT / having an INT gem socketed
It doesnt matter, the difference is negligible if there is any, melee weapons can for example get better damage perks like thwarting strikes
what im trying to say is, if we take 4500 flat dmg…

Musket: 2250 thrust + 2250 Elemental (50% through T5 gem)
Great Axe: 3825 slash + 675 Elemental (15% through T2 gem)
or am i looking at it wrong? you cant put a T5 Gem into the Great Axe since it doesnt scale with INT and you’ll lower your overall dmg

Enchanted only work with auto attacks
Vorpal only work with headshot

Physical absorb would be the wrong take here since it’s dealing around 65% elemental damage and all the musket users probably have different elements.
So tell me again which gems and perks you should be slotting for an attack that’s dealing ~35% physical, 65% elemental from the conversion gem and 15% of a possibly different element from attumement?
You are absolutely right, and this is where my question fits in. How are these perks even allowed on a musket along with the attribute combinations and other perks. Besides hiding, which during a war this is not the play as you would be in the open most of the time and depending on position you would not be in clumps. Can’t mitigate this.
