i don’t know about that… i tried these setting and, as a musket player, i found them hugely advantageous with regard to tracking specific targets; there’s effectively no soft cover

So a couple of things here
this isn’t a Nvidia program. It’s a 3rd party program on GitHub. It’s just made for Nvidia
The frame rate improvement is nice but the big issue is the render distance on the musket. With normal or in game settings you don’t get as far as render distance as you do with something like this. Which gives a big advantage in war or opr. Because your able to shoot people farther then what the in game settings can handle with rending.
Which means people are getting beamed and the experience of shooting through walls happens even more becausw they can see you more clearly. Further away too and have zero soft cover that obsecures you.
It is straight up advantageous for the musket. Issue is it helps a lot of other players.
AGS needs to code in a render distance view or something to stop it

Musket = no risk but high reward. Also insane mobility in combination with a rapier.
Its a shame that he can just stand hundreds of meters away from the enemy and snipe them with insane damage numbers without being countered because simply nothing besides another musket could counter him.
A very simple solution to this problem would be to remove the passive that deletes damage drop off after a certain distance.
Musket needs a serious damage drop after 30 meters and a bullet drop. A hitscan weapon like this does not fit in an MMORPG environment.
About the Video posted by the OP the streamer clearly has an advantage because the program he is using is removing a lot of work that needs to be done by the hardware…which means his game runs much more smoother. Also he has clearly an advantage by not having so much different vegetation and effects that disturb him.
I mean he wouldnt use it if he wouldnt feel a great advantage because clearly he does not use it because the game looks any better like this.
Having more FPS and less vegetation does give a big advantage in PvP.
Any program outside of the game should be forbidden when it comes to changing settings in the game.
By the way this is how we made it back in the days when playing quake:
It was an optional thing of the game in the settings though but it clearly gives an insane advantage and better visibility. Every player from the pro scene was using this settings.
In every FPS game there is, all serious players always play with the lowest possible settings.
Yes indeed but the settings are changed in the in game settings and not outside from the game by a third party program.
I would like to see more low settings options in the graphics menu of new world.
I dont mind at all to make my game look ugly if i can make it run smoother by changing the settings to the lowest possible.
What is the cheating part? Playing ultra low? Mabye his pc isnt good enough or something because playing like this doesn’t give any advantage.
And about the op weapon, he hit around 2k with crits/headshot, how much does a FS crit or a GA crit could you tell me?
Its about the distance while dealing this damage without being touched. No Firestaff or any other weapon can do that on such a distance.
Musket does have a risk. For effective damage, they have the glassiest of glasscannons builds in the game.
If you aren’t in full glasscannon build without any constitution, musket deals crappy damage, and that is how there exist threads in the forums asking for musket to be buffed.
Musket exists only in two modalities: 90% of the buids are underpowered, 10% of the builds are overpowered.
In regards to the graphics, the guy on the video is only getting higher framerate, which cannot be considered cheat, because everyone can just buy a monster hardware for that.
He is not removing vegetation, though, neither making it lower poly.
All the opposite, the only thing he does to vegetation is making it totally opaque. Those leaves are solid, as opposed of having holes and other transparent areas. The polygon complexity of the vegetation objects seems unaffected.
With normal graphics, the leaves’ textures have transparent areas you can see thru, while for this guy they are all solid.
Other players DO blend less with vegetation, as you say, so they are easier to track. However, that is very little of and advantage, since just aiming under the red diamond icon is anyway a better UI guide for where to shoot at, and that one is show over all scenery.
And what can the musket do in the distances where the firestaff or a GA can hit it? Hitting 1,5-2ks/sec and rooting yourself with every ability on a 300con player who hit the same amount but have twice as much hp and have real ccs.
Just equip a musket and play one game, you will understand it.

- Standing on a hill or camping way outside of the fights on a very high distance doesnt have any risks for you being a glass cannon. You still can easily take 3-4 hits but make sure to escape right at the moment you might feel to get in danger.
If you make the mistake to let a firestaff or GA come close enough to hit you thats one thing about your own gameplay.
Though you have a second weapon which is in 99% a rapier that gives you insane defense possibilities and survive options to gain distance or even punish your enemy by pushing you.
Most case in OPRs its muskets camping around hundred meters away though just like camping rats on the mountain.
Before you can spot them or even push them you are already half HP.

Please dont ignore the VOD. The players is 99.9 % of the gameplay in no danger at all while getting insane frags without having any risks. The zoom option also helps him to secure hits across the whole map.

Then what are you talking about? You are saying how op it is because a musket can shoot from distance and when someone ask what else can they do, go in mid to close range? And your first response if “durr you shouldnt go close range etc”. What are you even talking about then?
What are musket players supposed to do, if they dont have the rate of fire nor the damage and have no hp either to be even remotely keep competitive in mid to close range?

Everything i said is facts and we all can see it in the video. Also the forums is full of people now complaining about how unfair a musket is in Wars/OPR.
Ignore what? A player playing on full low settings hitting shots on range, what else is in the vod? You are stating obvious things like a ranged weapon is good on range, so I still dont understand what are you talking about.
Do you cry about mages too when they root you and shoot you, and about GAs too when they get close to you and hitting you?
