I cant understand how disconnected AGS has become with the player base so fast.
Communication was good and unusual for the genre in the beginning, feedback got responded and parts of it were even implemented in the game - fast.
But now?
Watermark chore got worse
Crafting chore got worse
Elite grind got worse
And with the sniping of the minimap, even the gathering gets worse (not by a huge, but still)
Why did this happen so fast? Someone is in charge who clearly doesnt play the game or has never played any kind of these games. Its a shame. I cant see the long term perpective of these changes neither. Its no like they were hardly necessary or anything of the points were âtoo funâ previously. Im just sad at this point.
I really hope they revert huge parts of these changes.
Donât confuse the existence of complaints with âgot out of touchâ. There are always complaints. Some valid, but by now most are a result of a bandwagon.
IMHOâŚAGS had to increase the difficult because the player base is burning through the game too fast. It was too easy to level. They do not have the time to do new content and fix all the bugs, so they have to try and slow the game down to allow time for the Dev team to get caught up on bugs and then release new content (that doesnât break existing things). Just my two cents.
Totally bandwagon. People are actually super happy with the game, and how AGS has treated their playerbase.
Iâm grateful, are you?
@Zugmika I totally believe this. Exactly why the azoth staff was broken for what, a month after release? Just happened to take that long to âfixâ it.
You are probably right, but I highly doubt that they achieve there goal with changes like the mentioned ones.
The ones that are already done wont get anymore content from that. And those that are still busy doing these are getting discouraged due to the changes, ultimately quitting the game.
If the chore wasnt long enough, they should change if for the future updates, but not the current situation. I simply cant understand it. I like the game, but I didnt tryhard in the beginning. Now I feel discouraged to progress furtherâŚ
They used the Broken Clock MethodâŚ
When developing the game they said, Screw it, even a broken clock is right twice a dayâŚ
They didnât listen. They posted PTR to get feedback, didnât listen to the feedback, and didnât use any critical thinking about the current meta.
So fast? What do you mean? They have been like this for the past 3 years, this is nothing new. Just get used to wiping the spit out of your face when dealing with AGS
Iâd love to be a fly on the wall at AGS. I assume, they are just like any other IT organization. The architects, developers, engineers, QA all want to make an amazing game, but they have and continue to be pushed by Management to deploy faster, cut corners, and keep the train moving forwardâŚno matter the cost.
I sadly think of it this way. We are the first waveâŚsome will stay and some will go. AGS will eventually work out the vast majority of bugs and issues. Then they will have a major content release/expansion. New players join, train keeps movingâŚ
Balancing the game out a bit isnât bad? While I dislike the buff in elite mobs I believe it makes people work harder and together = more rewarding. Donât you think itâll get a bit boring after everyone can easily rank crafting skills within a few days by making tier 1 stuff?
Spreading low amount of content is the worst way possible to try keeping players. There is a reason new world is with a terrible score and Valheim isnât.
Itâs much better for a player to consume everythinh and leave satisfied, then alienate the consumer that saw no lifer being rewarded.
I understand AGS reasons, but the their actions were idiotic.

agree. Itâs easy to start thinking our opinion is that of the rest but for the most part we have no idea what the majority is thinking because they donât share it. We need a button on the kb that we have to hit at certain times to chooe how we feel at that moment.hehe.
Its also as simple as they have your money already. And you cant have it back now. Your opinions no longer matter to them, if they ever did. At this point, your only recourse is to post fair reviews where they count.
This may be a good game someday, if it survives. It simply lacked vision and a sustainable structure. This could be resolved, but it will be painful to experience, as it is now, and likely will not look anything like what it has been purported to be. Only time will tell.
