How do I get DEVS to listen to my feedback?

If you see my profile, I’ve been giving feedback for a LONG time, and NONE, even dev, answers me or saw any post, I feel like a clown talking to a wall! :>

Have good luck at RNG I guess.
And craft the forum orb.

pov: u are me

You need to suggest something that makes the grind unnecessarily longer, less fun, breaks the game, or drives away players for it to be implemented. Jk.

Well, they’ve been quite busy. But we’re taking more and more feedback, so if you’d like to offer feedback I usually recommend keeping it respective and nonaggressive. Not saying you have, haven’t check yet, but that tends to go over best. As for an actual response from them, they only spend so much time on the forums so it’s more about perfect timing. But I gather feedback and bring it to them to work through.

Well could you please inform them that mutations have killed every other type of content and progression system in the game.

i.e.

  • you get little to no umbral shards for anything else.
  • 2000 ppl server cannot keep up with townboard upgrades and mutators. Many towns are dying and it is consolidating on Hubs like Everfall and Windward again.
  • PvP is dying for the same reason, there is too much grind to do that you cannot actually enjoy playing the game. Here also basically consolidating on a few companies per faction.

This whole system just creates a corporate monopoly of the Elite who owns hubs town, and can buy all the Mutator orbs on server further increasing thier dominace.

The rest of us are just sheep, grinding and feeding the elite.

And sheep don’t last long.

Don’t post for the devs, post for other players! Share good ideas and hope that other players adopt them and start to demand similar things.
That’s the way to go

But as someone who was Beta-Tester and spend hours in the forum: The amount of good feedback and ideas, that AGS has ignored or even done the exact opposite is staggering!
As always, there are people in AGS that need to be convinced to do something, who have no connection to gaming and are only interested in making money, without understanding what makes an mmo valuable.
That’s why i say “post for other players” so we as a group can demand better games, until publishers can’t sell us half-assed games anymore.

Here are some tips to accomplish your goals:

  • Post a qualitative, good, reasonable and understandable statement
  • As posted before, post for other Players, so you generate interest
  • Get all people you know to “like” your post and let them post feedback under it, so people see it is growing in interest
  • Search for other persons Posts, and if they fit yours, link one of the Posts, even if you have to give up yours, to the one that gets more interest by quoting the other one there.
  • Maybe, if it is a really important post, quote a CM, so the CM could see your post “easier”

pls send they this topic

Maybe that’s why you get ignored from some people.

hey bro, can take a look?

Look at the amount of playerbase they have lost in a staggeringly short time. If the devs listened to good feedback the numbers wouldn’t be what they are.

CMs are tasked with gathering the feedback and bringing it to the devs. I can promise that myself and Lux are hard at work going through everything and gathering what we can. Sometimes things do get missed or sometimes it’s the same piece of advice multiple times so we don’t always comment.

We do appreciate that you guys take the time to help give feedback.

@Shadow_Fox you are a ray of sunshine in this game. I have no doubt that you do take the feedback back. I do believe you appreciate the feedback.

Sadly I also believe the developers or managment who recieved the information couldn’t care less and it goes into the circular file, then they go back to doing whatever they were planning on doing anyways.

There are literally hundreds of examples to justify my belief between beta and today. There are less then a handful to make a counter argument. Unless that feedback happened to have some big names steamer backing it, then it gets listened to.

What gives me a glimmer of how is that there are people like you and @Luxendra that I do believe care about the game. So there is that at least.

@Shadow_Fox if you want people to play this game it isn’t that difficult. Stop giving them reasons not to play.
Currently if you can’t afford 10-100k per run you aren’t doing more then a couple mutation runs per week. That means at most you can afford 1 loss. So people who want to get higher teirs are disincentifized from taking anyone who isn’t a known player to them (newbies not allowed).

Currently there are 3 separate time gated crafts to make 1 timegated key. That you have to be 200 crafting to even make. That bottlenecks the orbs. What you are telling people is you don’t want them to do the content.

I know, if orbs are removed then people will just do expeditions all day, right? From a company standpoint is it really what you want to tell your players. That you don’t want them to play the content all day?

The only people that benefit from things as they stand now are the RMT and the large companies that can afford the grind. Is that really who you should be designing in game playability to benefit?

In the end most people won’t get on the forums and complain, they will just play something else that they can enjoy. What’s bad is even if you turn the game around, many of those people will never come back. Is this really the business model this company wants to design around?

pls read my feedback about fire staff i only play this game because this weapon ;-;

I can answer this as a designer for a larger mmo. Most of your feedback is going to go to an individual that does User experience design (UX designer). These can often opt as project managers.

These individuals have a job specifically to obtain information and feedback from players. I suspect the individuals from the community here on the forums are providing the collected feedback (in a more easily accessed format for the devs) directly to the UX designers.

Its important to understand that the people you want to talk to are extremely busy. UX designers/Project managers are often over looking what the rest of us are doing to tell us its to costly, its not liked by players and so on.

The individuals on the forums are generally your indirect link to the designers (the ones you want to talk to). Don’t think that just because they take your info they dont care. I can assure you, your thoughts are being collected and handed almost certainly directly to someone who does analyze the feedback in some way.

Another thing also is that is generally a bad idea to listen to players on how to “do things” rather than “what you dont like”. Players often are missing large moving peices of the puzzle, especially that has yet to be released to the public. What you suggest now may not be a good fit for what comes later.

I hope these points help you understand.

PS.
As a designer i am very impressed with the general attitude and well being of the individuals on the forums collecting data. They seem very dedicated to making the game work, and making your feedback count.

You either own the thing, back up the thing with money, back up the thing with people, or back up the thing with inteligence.
