There are two different approaches I have found effective and it really depends on wither you are a PVP or PVE player or Both.
I check blues and greens for crafting and refining perks and salvage everything else. I put the sellable blue and greens into my storage shed that all sellables goes into.
I salvage any item that I get where the item has a weapon perk where that weapon doesn’t scale on the attribute on the item, except when a ward is present.
PVE players will wear ward gear regardless of perks in circumstances so if it is BOE i put these into a storage shed specifically for selling (Restless Shore).
I salvage all BOP resilient gear, I don’t pvp and when I do I don’t bother with a PVP set.
I put all BOE resilient gear with matching weapon and attributes into my sale shed, the rest I salvage.
The gear I get that doesn’t have weapon perks, wards, or banes if it looks like something I might use (and that is very very rare) I organize those itemsin sheds by Attribute. Different shed for STR, INT, FOC, DEX and CON.
Even if a legenadry looks like crap I will list it on the TP at a low price just to make gold. 500g or 1000g and those always sell and its more than the 3g from salvage.
Items with wards are sorted into sheds by the ward and this is where my most used equipment sets are stored when not in use.
Reekwater - Ancient Ward Gear
Cutlass - Lost Ward Gear
Valor Hold - Angry Earth Ward Gear
Mountainhome - Corrupted Ward Gear
notice how the wards are in a shed near an expedition that uses the ward.
The weekly mutation combat ward plus most any weapon perk associated with a weapon that deals bonus damage to that creature type will sell for exorbitant amounts that week. People don’t splurge on off meta weeks for mutations but they do quite frequently during on meta weeks. Just takes planning and effort to capitalize.
Weapon Perk + Wards are relatively difficult to just find on the TP on demand. It’s something you curate over time. So selling those items at the right time can be a 20-40% increase in value.
Yea I know but Thoses pieces are pretty rare to find tbh ( under 5% of all purp you get ). Most of my purp BoE are some mix of resil / RE or resil / Freedom. If I have ONE piece of Ward / weapon perk ( and right attribute ) after all my weekly limit it’s good. Edit : I know I just spend 50k for a corrupted bane / freedom / forti perforate DEX hat
If there’s a specific drop I’m looking for (namely PvE armor sets that drop off specific bosses) I’ll check for it, but otherwise I just salvage every purple and any legendary that I don’t think will sell for more than 10k
I wish more people were like this. It makes making money in the TP so much easier for those of us who sell 70% of our loot. Don’t know who is buying it and don’t really care but 200g is 98% more gold than salvaging it.
I’d kill for them to introduce actual auctions instead of buy/sell orders. Being able to post a buyout, minimum bid, and duration would be amazing I think.
I used use grey items as spacers and would put my items in manually to create sets and then use the sort by time function to prioritize the things I wanted to keep go on first, things I want to get rid of go in last.
the grey icons really help to visualize the sort break
would be happy to see just a simple bit of Albion online market copy pasta w trend graphs of items for both buy and sell side of items along w avg gold price for both.
Dont you have problem with active listing ? For maintening myself under 500k I need constant BO and also listing too much purpies. I would also sell every purp on TP if we didn’t have a active limit
Bop I scrap everything under 600 except for named 590+. BoE I scrap blue and greens if not crafting gear as well as any purple below 590. The rest I filter by hand and keep weapons that have weapon specific perk and matching attributes. Gear that has nice alignment for most played builds. It usually leaves me with just a few pieces. I keep all the sellable in a remote shed and pick up some at random to sell in a town with an empty storage shed. If the item won’t sell it’ll end up there and I can salvage or relist it. It is important for me to know what I attempted to sell already as the worst situation is when the gear you want to keep mixes with the gear you intend to sell and gear that has already been listed so I try to keep it separate.
And yes it would be so nice to see valuation of the item based on last sold directly in the item description. I’d love to have some mod that could provide that.
I would just like to point out that the length of your response post itself demonstrates how terrible the loot and Inventory management is in New World. If you have to write a novel about how you keep things straight, there’s a real problem.
I’ll rather have more gold drop from every mobs than having crap gear every 1/5 mobs. Lower the drop rate , make drop more valuable ( maybe not necessary when I see all legendaries I got from m10), increase the frequency we get 8g/ mob or something, Thoughts ?
Impossible to do without more named drops and less rng. And rng would have to start being more intelligent andcless random. Ie get rid of split stats and always have synergy between weapon perks and attributes.
Saying your post was long was not an insult. Like I said, it just demonstrates how many things players need to do to keep loot straight because basic organizational tools are missing from the game.
