It’s Thanksgiving in a matter of hours.
Huge holiday, lots of cross country travelling. I wouldn’t be surprised if AGS had a skeleton crew working at the moment.
Having no idea on how complex a fix might be, I think the holiday is having a big impact on the current timetable.
If they are really working on a intricate workaround to rollback only selected people (that will prolly break 10 other features) instead of an easy and quick 6hr total rollback in non-primetime im done with them.
Really, who makes decisions in ags???
In my Country enough.
Seriously, i’m not going to discuss with an amateur (which you are, else you would not talk back).
Guess you are the kind of person that is questioning the diagnose of your doctor.
They’re mostly trying to automate the gold rollback, but mostly people have hidden that gold using market/alts/guilds.
So unless its a full rollback of atleast 12 hours, they broke the economy already better than any single duper could’ve.
Sadly I didn’t wanna even login, but then again I guess I got my answer from this mess why I didn’t want to login. Was waiting for them to sort their own shit, just to find out they cant even write 2000.00 gold instead of 200000 on a reimburse.
We have no idea of the infrastructure in place, the size of the db whether is distributed or otherwise, if it ties into other regions db’s, we have no idea how it all ties together, we dont know if a roll back can or is taking place, nobody outside AGS can claim to give you numbers because there is nothing to base those assumptions on.
It’ll take as long as it takes, IF it is even happening.
I personally suspect, given the time its taken so far, a bunch of tired dev’s/techies are probably trawling through a lot of logs and user accounts manually trying to fix stuff thats broken.
Thats 230 ish EU servers holding multiple world sets and god knows how many users on each assuming it even works like that. We dont know if they are virtualised or physical, how its managed (or not as the case appears to be). We have no clue.
Although I am curious to understand that, but these days, as in the old days the best security is through obfuscation and I suspect AGS would like to keep it that way.
