How does loot from mobs/bosses work with parties?

I heard a rumor that being in a smaller party gives higher loot drop rates, so I did some googling and found that back in October, loot only went to the party with the highest gearscore if multiple parties damaged the mob. Does anyone know for sure how loot actually works? Is it documented anywhere?

I really want to know this aswell. i read some stuff before but nothing official or atleast i didn’t see anything official.

My best guess: chances of getting loot is equally divided between groups in vicinity that deal damage to a certain mob. (A single person also counts as a group) if it’s not equally, then it most be groups that do more damage, have more chance of getting loot.

In my experience, Boss Loot was inconsistent. Like sometimes 5 random people would get Loot, other times it was most damage since my healer often got 0, and other times it was mostly one particular party, perhaps due to accumulated damage that correlates to GS.

We thought it was based on damage but sometimes it seems like the person who was furthest away, not contributing to the battle, is the one who gets the best loot! Maybe dreaded RNG?

from what i can tell your party needs to deal significant damage to a boss (15%~) for a chance to get credit to receive a bag, there may also be a player/party limit or cap.

even if your group gets credit, you may not get loot. this is just from my personal experience playing the game, ymmv.

Idk. Maybe it got changed. Cuz a lot of people complained a lot that healers were not getting loot. But even this seem random, so there’s gotta be more to loot.

And also, it’s strange how many bad instances of terrible luck I’ve experienced compared to people I know. Like, I farmed ill-gotten gain for like 10 hours without getting it, and a friend of mines got 4 in 20 minutes -_- Literally everyone in my guild got it except me.

A ridiculous disparity. Sometimes things like that makes me think RNG gets bugged in this game. As hard as that sounds to believe, it happened in Tera years ago. Like, it would normally take 10 scrolls to convert a masterpiece but some people were stuck at 5000+ My problem was with enhancing and Devs had to add failstacks cuz items sometimes got stuck too.

And yeah, it seems the Loot limit is just 5. Which Sucks for some farms like Malevolence. This has been a thorn for me.

Yeah gruop member only get drop if dealing damage around 10-15%. But the drop its still base on ur luck.

Last week while i join random party. Im even not touch the boss, i still runing when arrive i got best drop form bos ( glowing sap).

Thats all. I think rng still base on ur luck but dev have to take a talk about this.

I dont think , coz im play as healer and dps. There is no voidbent for mage or healer then i buy and craft some. While i read weapon luck its work on boss killing so i always farm with luck weapon too.

Emm i dont know its work for everyone but.l, every time i doing spam boss i always use full set luck.

All armour luck + gem luck (if ur armour and ring, amulet 617 it will incrase ur luck to 2.9%)
Weapon luck with pearl gem
3 major loot luck
Also with all my bag have 2.8 % luck

Thats all for being human full of luck but most drop will be crafmod and broken hacet :rofl::rofl::rofl:

I think you’re right - damage as a group to qualify for a loot drop at all, then it’s down to individual luck (RNG modified by luck score) as to what drops for each person. I know 100% you can get a good loot bag if your group does damage but you personally do nothing.

I’d just like to point out that we have a lot of speculation, and none of us really have a clear idea of how it works. They say transparency and communication are key for MMO survival, so does AGS care to chime in?

Do they even know? Many Perks were completely broken since Betas and Devs seem to have found out way after launch.
