Genuine question: PVP wise, is there a difference between 600GS vs 625GS? I mean does the 625 deal more dmg to 600 and takes less dmg ?
I am asking because to some people I deal a lot of damage while on other I barely scratch their light armor. Same goes for damage received. And I am at 616 gs
i think gear score only effects in duels.
According to this guy, when doing damage all that matters is your weapon’s GS and your opponent’s armor rating (plus fortify, gems and resilient, of course). Your overall GS does not matter when doing damage, except for the few attribute points you are missing. So, if this true, having a 625 weapon is really important to do max damage, but your other items’ (armor and jewelry) gear scores don’t matter as much.
Your armor rating increases by raising your gear score, but having a 625 GS armor set only provides about 2% more mitigation than a 600 GS armor set.
Your low damage might because of a sub-625 weapon or the enemy has resistance to your particular weapon (moonstones for anti-slash damage) or they are stacking fortify (shirking fortification).
I guess this guy could be wrong too, but he seems pretty serious about testing things.
It does, i can tell you for a fact my bow started hitting a lot harder at 625 vs 618 gs. I tried arenas around 618 gs, and i was hitting like a wet noodle. Now this bow slaps the shit outta people, i dont have data but theres shots in bowpr where i hit someone for 8-9k or 5-6k. Im guessing this has something to do with my opponent being undergeared, id like to think most people are running physical resistance gems, or thrust gems. But im still hitting certain people hard af. The resistance values dont look like much, but im guessing gs works similarly to mutations, where if your opponent is undergeared to you theres a dmg multiplier.
Also i recommend you slot a gem that splits your dmg, a lot of people are running thrust gems and they will take full elemental dmg because of this. Even tho my arrow dmg is cut down to 2k ish, the elemental dmg will still do around 3k ish+
