there is a guy in my server who sells a lot of glittering ebony, and i was wondering
how is it so cheap? it costs less than 50g is every server and you need more than 50g to make
them.
Is not about supply or demand, cut selling, profit etc… is there something i don’t know?
how people keep make glittering ebony with negative profit? they can make more gold
by selling ironwood plank.

If its below cost then why don’t you just buy it up and resell it?
Because crafting is crap. Especially for wood crafts.
Because you only need ebony for weapons.
And why would you craft a bow when there is the Lazarus bow?
Or a spear when there is the javelin of dryadic empowerment?
Or a musket when there is infamy?
Or a Hammer when there is Fury?
The few axes that are crafted are not enough.
That is why glittering ebony is cheap. Because it is useless. Crafting is dead. Especially engineering and weaponsmithing.

Ironwood is used for trophies and is therefore in higher demand.

easy answer ebony is not used in armor, only weapons and tools.
no one hard crafts tools anymore and the perk pool for 600 tools isnt as awful.
weapons, only the bow takes the majority wood (i think spears too) and near bis is farmable so no demand for it.
the new BB and even the great axe (the only one without a decent farmable with thwarting strikes) only takes like 3 wood.
