I dunno. I’m not seeing that may BiS gear on the market at all. At least not for me (not that I could afford it )
It is a bit difficult to sell some purples unless they have 1 perk shy of bis but I can still see a market there. It’s a good way to try builds out.
I think if there was a better inventory ( storage management system and respecing was smoother (build saves) it would encourage people to try different builds more often and might cause more interest in the epic gear.
There are still a lot of people grouping all the rolls together… have patience, roll 5 and if you do not get legos just wait 5 min and try again after that.
It seems that the legos rolls are grouped together so there is a possibility that the RNG formula have time inside or a internal number that reset every 5min.
Golden Scarab is game changing , but offset in some cases by the high cost of some craft mods.
Greatsword … 2 bis (approx 10 legendary) in 47 rolls
Sword … 2 rolls for BIS I was after
Ring … 5 rolls for BIS ring I was after
Amulet … 9 rolls for BiS amulet I was after
Armour … 40 rolls for 2x BIS armour I was after
Armour hurt the most as I was locking in Greatsword skill and shirking fort modifiers with Resilent being high chance if 600gs. I almost gave up there after so many purples, but luckily my last few rolls turned it around else I was down bad.
With the exception of shirking fort armour I think if you can’t purchase what you want for 200-300k, then golden scarab is the way.
On weapons if it’s 3 very specific perks and nothing else will do then buying rather than rolling is probably best. If you are open to a few different perks as your third then probably scarab.
Crafting is more reliable and prices of legendary crafted items have dropped significantly, so overall I think it’s a positive for the game.
I think the scarabs were implemented very specifically to give people a straight forward path to getting “BiS 2 perkers”, so they can get in the “endgame” and feel semi-competitive, faster.
For that reason, they did a really good job.
It was just a year overdue and so many people
already burnt out on the terrible RNG.
However I see no reason to craft anything right now,
at this pace theyll release a way to roll perfect 3 perkers in the next year.
Shoot dude… that’s a TON of coin to me! And sorry about your bad luck. I see some people with such good luck and then others with no luck at all. It’s crazy… and feels awful being in the no luck group.
To me the next logical step is to allow us a path to upgrade crafted 595-599 gear to legendary.
"Salvaging legendary crafting mats (eternal ice, broken blade, shattered sword, ancient bearing, etc.) Now counts has a 600 named item (50 gold, 50 umbral?, fragments, CHANCE AT NEW MATERIAL)
This new material can be combined with lets say 5 void ore to gamble on an upgrade.
66% chance item is destroyed, 33% chance item is upgraded and binds the item.
Nobody can be remotely competitive with purple 2 perk gears.
5/5 res
5/5 shirking fort
4/5 freedom
1/5 weapon perk
4 freedom and 1 shirking fort is basically what the guy in your example is missing, assuming he has one required weapon perk.
That…doesnt seem so bad assuming hes a bruiser? Idk i know im in the minority here, but 4 stacks of freedom is either incredibly useful or not used at all. I agree hes at a disadvantage but it’s not like it is unplayable.
Just fyi I am not willing to argue this point seriously because:
I feel like crafting in this game is rigged to not give legendaries 1/6 of the time. I think there is a separate roll that either makes your 600 roll legendary or bumps it down to 599.
I dont care if other people get bis and if it increases the playerbase im all for it. All of my experience in this game points to cohesive group play mattering way more.
Yeah you can dig it up, but someone recorded 5k rolls and presented all their findings.
There is (apparently) a better chance of picking one atom in the universe and it being on your hand than there being a 1/6 of rolling legendary when rolling 595-600.
On the freedom - yeah it clearly matters what build. No argument there.
I think there needs to be a small amount of advantage given to no life grinding the game, but it shouldnt be the general “you dont get good gear sry thats for rich people” setup there currently is.
Imo, they should just let you reroll one perk per item and then maybe limit the number of “rerolled” items you can wear. That way bis gear is valuable because it frees up your rerolled gear slots, but it isnt some once in a blue moon gold cap craft.
