How long do server transfers take?

So I haven’t seen this question answered in any of the threads regarding transfers. Once transfers open how long does it actually take to move your character to the new server? Is it instant? A few minutes? A few hours? Days?

Anyone know? I am trying to get my company coordinated to make our move to a new server.
