How to balance armor weights

All these nerfs to fortify/mitigation, slows for light armor will create another problem in the future, in hopes of buffing heavy armor.

in my opinion the problem with heavy armor and medium isn’t the mitigation, its just isn’t fun to play with it because of the dodges. rn if you dodge with heavy armor you just like you do Michael Jackson hop which you don’t move anywhere.

-elden ring/ dark souls have the best weight armor system basically heavy armor will do full roll but slower and less distance. Medium will do full roll with a lil bit faster animation and medium roll distance, and so on for light armor. In order to do this you will have to revert light armor nerfs cuz it will make heavy armor over meta.

  • the 2nd solution is to move medium roll to heavy armor, and make medium roll 40% less distance than light armor roll, and make light roll the same as of now. In order to make these changes you have to change medium armor having an extra dodge and dex having having free hearty or it will make medium over meta.

I prefer the 1st solution tbh NW gameplay already copied many dark souls mechanics it should copy the dodge rolls too.

the people suggesting unreasonable and biased opinions just to nerf light armor to the ground plz spare us. The point of post is to make every armor weight viable.

I think they should flip it and make the same roll for everything give light 3, medium 2, heavy 1. Decouple it from stamina and give them a short cd before they recharge or reduce the amount of stam regen I think decoupling is better though and leave stam for movement skills, blocking, and some attacks

Always liked the idea of normalizing the roll and then balance accordingly. Hopefully at some point they’re brave enough to do it.

Medium and heavy are generally OK, relative to each other.

Light is always going to be OP as long as its roll results in higher overall movement speed. It just sounds like your suggestion is to make this worse, and make heavy disadvantaged against medium too.

Light armor can currently disengage from any fight they don’t want to be in against medium/heavy, and then just walk + roll away. Conversely when light feels advantaged, it can run down medium/heavy. The ability to choose their battles is huge.

And then this is compounded by bow / rapier haste and movement skills, because these weapons are so evasive there’s no reason to ever consider not wearing light.

What needs to happen is movement speed normalized for light.
