Seems that devs had not only issue to balance weapons vs each other in pvp. But on top of that they coudnt balance them for pve for over a year now.
So dev team what about using coating potions to balance for pve? Simples way would be same coating would apply different amount of stacks on different weapons.
Ancient coating on WH - 1 stack
Ancient coating on rapier - 3 stacks
So you can make each weapon usable on end game pve with out breaking them in relation to each other in pvp.
MMORPGs will never be balanced. If you want balance you need to be playing a game where everyone uses the same weapon/gear. The moment you understand this, you’ll enjoy it more. These types of complaints have existed for around 20yrs… mmorpgs aren’t a game of balance, they’re games of immersion and fun (or frustration if you don’t respect the fact that they’ll be unbalanced).
All gaming companies can do is pacify you with “we’re working on it” comments but little can be done to “balance” so many variables.
Not true. You cant achive perfect balance - true. But you can balance weapons in some limited range. So differenence wont be weapon X does 5k dmg and Y just 1k. Instead you can have 5k vs 4k. And its much better from what we have.
Issue is dev teams seems not to understand they already have in game mechanisc they can use to balance weapons in pve with out changing them. So they can focus on balancing for pvp and then just adjusting that one additional pve related variable. Super easy.
But that 1k difference still has people screaming “balance X” better or “Nerf Y”. It leads no where. Trust me on this, I’ve seen it over the last 20yrs. MMORPG games are NOT balanced and never will be. Enjoy that fact or waste time being frustrated. Those are the realistic choices I’m afraid.
If it was up to me, I’d make things really unbalanced so that people would see the value of being in a party and needing the added value that other classes/weapons bring but, that won’t happen either as people want the feeling of being able to do everything. Dps want to heal and healers want to be able to dps.
It’s a cycle that will never be complete. Either accept that or chose a non mmorpg as your game of choice, is my words of wisdom.

Main issue right now is that there are few tiers of weapons in mutations. Where hatchet is S and lets say rapier is G (Garbage) tier. Difference between WH and Bow for example is insane. Its not like 10-20% dmg diff. We are talking about multipliers.
Ok, well good luck in your quest for balance but, I don’t think I’ve anything more to add. I’ll be enjoying the game as unbalanced as ever. Use your time wisely in life and do what you feel best.
The thing about pve balace is you font have to equlise damage across the board to archive some kind of balance.
Probably the best way to do this is employing synergies between different classes or in this instance weapons. In simplest terms its like: if a weapon deals 80% average damage then it in party of 5 the it should increase effectiveness of every other party member by at least 5%
Sns have a very crude example of that. VG is a bit more subtle. I dont know if tools wh provides are enough to take it instead of additional bow so if they arent that would be reason for buff
Aka, it doesn’t exist and never will. Some things are best suited for specific situations; other things will be weaker for specific situations. You have to adapt to the environment and stop telling the devs to adapt the environment to your specific build.
Not all builds should be optimal for all situations. You need different sets in this game and be prepared to play a different role altogether when needed.
