Heavy armor, constitution, thrust resist, tower shields, situational awareness/line of sight, patience, (not mongo rushing into battle), are not options?!?!
There is a ton of stuff one can do.
The issue has to do with how the OP plays in accordance with their build because there are ways to counter that specific situation.
The REAL issue is that most melee players in this game (and any MMORPG for that matter) want to literally rush into battle and face roll with zero strategy applied to their actions. This is the same reason “hard core PVPers” in games like wow always ignore battleground objectives (you see it in new world as well), they’d rather just zerg and kill. Their rush does not come from playing the map/strategizing for a win. Their rush/dopamine comes from “owning” another player and in the OP’s case, he got “owned” and simply can’t handle it.
He has choices, but chooses not to implement them into his gameplay.
Heavy armor, constitution, thrust resist, tower shields, situational awareness/line of sight, patience, (not mongo rushing into battle), are not options?!?!
and you forgot about the melee who finished you off
If there is no Matchmaking with locked Items + Premads/Solos in OPR there will be never a Counter for this and Servers with only 1000Players will it make more Harder to realise.
Is this life motto of weak people? You can’t beat them so join them ? This is not a solution.
It is like proposing a guy to become a criminal to fight crimes (wtf?)
It is a team composte of solo players, versus a team composte of premade. It was always that way. It is not relative to who is bad or not, but just who is smart to use the system on their favor.
Also I don’t think these ppl are bad players if they keep getting 2 tapped by musketers. They are not on a even level so I cannot compare them
I will test for sure. Currently running Spear/Rapier with Refresh Ward/Shirking/Freedom, it is good too with Heavy Armor to kite around clamps. (On OPR, on WAR is meme since rapier does not provide any good buff to the raid)
Also I have really a bad time as assasin, too much desync, probably related to my old CPU… So playing on clamps make it “even”
Why you deleted your post to post the same thing again? I already replied to it.
I just came into the OPR, rushed for the only base we had, where is 4 PPL of my random party fighting on. There was the play to do, defend the point with the party the game gave me.
The fact that two musketers appeared on my screen, shoot on the same time, hitting for 13K damage on one second time window, does not make a difference on the play choice.
The play was correct, I went on to support my random party within the only base that we had at the moment. I just posted there to see if ppl suggest any good tips to counter the 13K damage that I received, and dumber comments just tell me “you should not be there, just leave your comrades to defend the base alone”.
I happy that most of ppl that replied to the post are reasonable folks, who can see what is in happening on the video, instead of asking “WHAT ARE YOU EXPECTING?”
Counterbuilding is one thing, counterplay another. There is no real counterplay option here. Running away or hiding behind something and waiting for them to go away is not counterplay; it’s choosing not to interact.
Which is no different than a lack of counterplay when just 2 bruisers get on a musket player.
Anyone who thinks they should have the ability to counter 3x simultaneous attacks coming from 3 different directions need to get their head checked, its that simple.
I mean, its utterly ridiculous. Per your and the OP’s mindset, you should be able to counter this scenario and live? Ok…well then what if it were 3 ranged and a melee or 3 ranged and 3 melee, or maybe 10 people, or an entire raid…where does it stop?
The dude was in light armor, shot by two different musket players at roughly the same time with a bruiser who came up from behind to finish him off.
But entertain me. What do you feel should have happened? How do you feel the scenario should have played differently? Do you think the OP is the best player on the planet earth, or possibly in the entire Milky Way galaxy, or could he have done things differently?
No, there are plenty of very skilled Bow and Musket players who regularly fight 1vX against bruisers in OPR. Definitely have seen it.
He should have some ability to interact with his opponents. Instead, he took 5000 damage in the first salvo, then another 5000 damage. The only thing he could do is drink a potion before they finished him.
Ideally, he should at least be able to get in range to attack them and force them to kite. I don’t necessarily think he should always win a 1vX, but the TTK here is definitely unreasonable.
