How to Empower and Make Furnishing / Housing Good

an idea to help furnishing be valuable and empower housing

First off, The housing costs are to high. We need to reduce them to the point of being 5k initial cost max for the largest house.

Second,
WE should bind the trophy slots to unlock based on housing score. The concept of adding a “score” value to each furnishing item. For example, 100 score for maple chair, while gold chair is 1000.

Ps. Cosmetic items should grant no more then max level equiv in score or less.
Third,
Maje placement very important by changing the value of items placed based on their color-placement score

  • Green = 100% of the score value of the item
  • Yellow = 20% of the score value of the item

This should do it. Now people have to build houses so they can use those great trophies. Make it hard!

If furnishing will give any real benefit, players will scream “pay2win”. I doubt furnishing will ever change from what it is right now, which is a waste of time and coin.

I like this idea however I would make a couple of changes. Also housing costs are not that high and considering the benefits I feel like they are good.

Yes I like that score = trophy slots. However wouldn’t this lead to people spam placing stuff in the middle of the house. Even with your third point, currently the colour change is just to say whether it is clipping with an object or, not in a place able area. So people would just place everything in the middle and score high by not clipping objects.

Cosmetics could literally work like skins. You have a maple chair but a skin that turns it into Zeus’ throne? sure but the score is that of a maple table.

Eh trophies are pretty neat

They are. I am at max level with max level professions and even i cannot afford to buy them.
They are overly priced and its a major problem for furnishing.
The other major problem is people using them for teleport pads, and storage lockers.
Reducing the cooldown or teleport needs to be massively increased, maybe just set at a base rate like 500.
Chests should be limited to 1 per a hour and buffed
players should be capped at 1 house.

No, As i explained. The colors on which you place items (yellow, green, red) Will impact the score of the item.

If you stack items they are yellow, so they’d would not really have value. Red you cannot place on (the game blocks it).

Not exactly. Green can be interacted with (like sitting in a chair) Yellow cannot.

I initially was thinking that itemshop furniture should not give a bonus, but its not pay to win if you scale their score based on the design.

So if a maple chair gives 100, and a orichalcum chair gives 1000 then itemshop items should be between 100 and 1000.

But this is the reason they are that much though. I feel like if you do that houses wouldn’t be used at all main reason for houses is storage, travel and trophies. You want to destroy 2/3 of those? And you want furnishing to matter? make it make sense.

I think if you make the designs good enough people will still buy them. They do it with armour now so why not furnishing.
