How to incentivize open world PVP / fort fights

Said this in a thread and decided to make it a topic in the desperate hopes that AGS sees it. The infrastructure is already there, you just need minor tweaking. I’d be more than happy to hop on a discord call and talk through questions if anyone at AGS takes this seriously and wants to know more.

They also have a whole “realm rank” system that unlocks ability to spend points on different things that benefit PVP. Some of them are actually things like the vines and stoneform CC break you added as a heartrune we have to do PVE dungeons to acquire and upgrade. Missed opportunity.

I strongly believe with your limited dev team you will never keep up the pace with actual content and need to do some stuff like this (or whatever creative ideas you can come up with) that gives players the tools and incentive to constantly make their own content.

Edit: To keep the PVE players from being too upset you could simply make the buffs like PVP perks where they are PVP only.

In one of the recent Forged in Aeturnem videos, they talked about the forts being a central spot for PVP.

So did see this video but what they talked about doing was still very limited times as well as primarily just for the influence game for declaring wars. I don’t think it hits the issue of getting open world PVP going on all the time outside of the specific time frames.

They specifically said it was limited time and if successfully defended then no one can attack you again for a while.

I am glad they are doing stuff to make the territory pushing less boring, but it doesn’t sound like it will solve the consistent any time-of-day open world issue at all.

It does basically make my suggestion above impossible though so thanks for the reminder heh
