How to MASSIVELY improve gameplay with almost NO developer time required

we have 19 points per weapon, not 20

everything established continues to function perfectly well per current design with this change

we don’t need ANY other changes, no more skill points, nothing, that’s the thrust of this argument: MASSIVE improvement to quality of gameplay for next-to no dev time vs any alternative conceivable change to gameplay towards even a remotely equivalent increase in FUN

this is the single most efficient way the development team could make a positive impact on their game

I dont see how this improves anything.

For example on VG/IG mage. What will you take aditionally for VG? Tether or Rapture? One scales from FOC.

For some weapons that have all 6 skills good, its good. But other that only have like 2-3 good actives its nothing.

Healers are not immortal, only bad players say such things. You can kill healer 1v1, even if u struggle he cant kill you. If one team has healers 2nd not they cant win due to bad team design and its no a reason to change -nerf healers. About others well yes game might become more skill rotation but it would be to many CC. Imagine hammer, shockwave stun, path pf destiny slow, knock downs from left tree skills… you will not be able to move. SnS infinite walking on fortify cap + high damage and strong CCs from combine left and right tree… Spear + hatchet or SnS will be cancer…

yeah, imagine the game being FUN… we definitely wouldnt want that…

and you can see vids of 1 healer vs 8+ players immortal all over the video websites, only desperately naive cope-huffing Redditors would suggest the game isn’t hindered by the outsized impact of healing

Which is all irrelevant BECAUSE THEY ALREADY NEED TO BALANCE THE GAME this isn’t adding additional effort that wont already be required

hmm, sounds like those actives that no-one uses need to be fixed regardless, don’t you think?

lol with the addition of heartgem i think the skills is enough now. They could just upgrade the skill tree like an additional attack or effect. or a weapon modifier that evolves your skill when when paired with a different weapon.

the game combat pretty much comprise of dodging, blocking , using your skill, and using light or heavy attack. The cd for the skills give you room to use your dodge, block, light and heavy attack.

The gameplay is fun for casuals. This is not wow where you spam 20 buttons haha.

Bad idea. It seem impossible to balance game with 3 skills per weapon. With 5 skills will be armageddon.

You kinda answered yourself that problem is not skill amount.

Don’t see how having 5 abilities would improve combat, more like actually make it just a ability spamfest as in other games. Tho comparing to other games is not exactly valid and the combat system is completely different as brought up in previous comments. Actually I would say that combat where you have 2-3 times more skills to use is boring, due to losing actual mechanics with it and everyone just spamming abilities.

With some setups you never swap weapons at all.

Then you are a noob.

When I play a new game, and the game have to many abilities and options. I tend to lose interest way faster. Spacing abilities around, and formulating / rotation of abilities.

I love that you only have 3 per weapon. It makes the combat more simple and fine tuned, yet with all the fun. I never even once thought about adding an extra ability while playing. Can you imagine with a elite run. Participants of 30 plus having 11 abilities each. That means in a time of 30 seconds, you will see roughly 300 abilities been used. HAVOC!!!

This would require a total and complete overhaul of each weapon, as they are all currently balanced around having 3 abilities available each.

We’re talking a very large undertaking and rebalancing of all the trees, as well as considerations for skill points/passives. This would also greatly affect the gameplay in both PVE and PVP.

Currently, certain weapons can almost already global other classes, this would increase that to many more weapons. (Diminishing a large aspect of the combat.)

Don’t know that this would be a good move from several avenues.

Great Axe for grav well. Or spear for rend. We run 2 hammer/Axe one Hammer/Spear.
