That’s the same as a PvP Nerf… Where were you when Ice/Fire got nerf’d into oblivion.
People keep their HWM, but now it’s actually meaningful, which is a good thing… you can’t just buy your way into end game. So many people doing RMT, and this makes them play the game.
I would argue the crafters got a MAJOR advantage as it’s 3x Harder to work crafting up NOW.
Should they have reset crafting when they made those changes? Because That would only be fair by these same standards.
You guys are pissed that people found easier ways to get to end game… yall chose a way that you found at your taste… why does it have to be detrimental to anyone else?
i try not to drive my self reading between the line in a video game. that is already difficult in real life.
Yes- some type of balance would be nice. They could give a 10 point boost to GS for each profession maxed? or 5 something that would push people closer to the top without giving them the top.
No, they should not have reset it - But they should have kept our overall crafting EXP in the profession, instead of the level.
If Armoring needed 2 Million Exp before the patch, and it needs 4 Million after that - I totally shouldve been forced to farm these 2 million difference to get back to 200. So after the patch I would probably have been back to around 160 or so armoring to compensate for that and to make me farm these 2.000.000 just as everyone else needed. Yes, this wouldve been the right and fairest decision for everyone.
If they track decently, they could also have changed the EXP for every craft in that profession you made in the past 2 months retrospectively, calculate it with the new system and sit you at this level of the profession after the patch. This would been a lot more work and tracking to be done - but since this is a major overhaul at the relative start of the MMO, It wouldve been fine to do this.
Both wouldve been fairer ways to do it, and even tho I profited from grinding at least 2 professions early on, I strongly disagreed with how unfair the patch was done and was definitely on the side of the people that complain about it.
it’s not about being forced now at all it’s about losing everything you invested so far. That’s different.
I think they way they’ve chosen to do it is the most fair.
I don’t get the easier crafting XP, and they don’t get the easier HWM. (We don’t even know if this way is harder) This way both parties don’t lose something they didn’t have.
It would not be a problem if they were not suddenly changing the base mechanic of how GS has always worked and we had the ‘same’ choices we always had for GS.
It is not that someone found an easier way, it is that they are removing game mechanics rewarding those that cheesed their way to a high watermark, some through exploits. The watermark has always been for ‘drops’, not for use and THAT is the drastic change that the majority of the player base disagrees with. Downgrading a portion of your player base while rewarding those that exploited is never a good idea.
With that said, I have no problem with this change if they just give us all those bugged out bosses with the instant respawn to camp for weeks like many of the players with high watermarks did …
It is not the same.
Some people zerged their WM. I am fine with their choice. Some people chose to farm and craft. That choice is now being punished. Why is mining your void and getting 200 AS being devalued?
How is mindless lemming zerg any better than mindless repetitive node chasing? Aside from AGS deciding it is.
Anyway - I’m just really badly annoyed that so much of the work I put in will go to waste (or at least, I will be unable to use it for a long time, until GS is farmed back up to 600). This just sucks.
And I am really pissed off, that with every patch they get closer to being “just one of 1000 mmos”. SO many MMOs do this artificial content stretching, by giving you a daily limit of what I can do to progress. I get that for maybe 1 specific legendary Item that you grind a month for or smth - but with the new system my entire gear progress will be heavily stalled.
And to make up for my time spent crafting, I will probably have a list, like every new 60 player, that is competitive - on each day you are online, you need:
- 1 OPR
- 5 big portals
- farm mats for gypsum from 3 professions
- do daily quest XY
- blablabla (made the numbers and categories up…)
to get these 7 gypsum. And if I dont do that, I will constantly keep falling behind even further - because I have no way of saying “alright, I will spend the weekend farming 15 hours, to make up for the fact I didnt have time to play over the week and still stay competitive”. Even if I put in the same hours, that you put in over the entire week, I have no chance of staying competitive, if I dont do a long list of daily chores. And yes, that is what they become by the time you are forced to do them: Chores.
I hate it so much when games do this. Force me to do specific things EVERY day over and over again, to stay somewhat competitive. And with there being so many different ways for it and pretty much the entire progression relying on the system with no way to circumvent - you are basically forced to do that, be fine with being ganked in PvP, or just quit… and that is sad. BC New World started as one of the few games, that did it old-school and rewarded the grind, no matter WHEN you put the time in. And they take this from us. This is a MAJOR change to the game mechanic, that, tbh, if it was in at the beginning, wouldve made me never buy the game. Just like every other MMO in the last 15 years that I didnt buy because it had such mechanics to artifically force me to do chores every day…
And some people got crafting skill when it was hyper easy, and those people zerging chests pumped cheap materials into the market that’s not available now.
So you agree, AGS should wipe the DB and start over?
@Rarnek
I think you’re really over estimating how hard it is to get 600 GS. It doesn’t look like it’s getting harder… People seem to think you’re not raising your gear score while your doing the work for your casts. It is much easier then it is to get crafting skill now.
maybe the should just start a new server for the people that are dying inside from this update.
ah, so you want to punish others for their progression choice. thanks. was just seeking clarity.
Yes, please. And please keep transfers on there disabled forever, so we dont get people with duped shit, high professions before the update hit, or high HWM before the next update.
When they screw over the entire progression system several times and give some players huge advantages over others that come after them in several aspects of the game - and they do not find a way to compensate or migitate that in some way shape or form - then YES, they should seriously think about starting fresh servers after these major overhauls, or about just calling it a beta in 3 months, wiping the whole shit and have everyone start over, after fiddling out these… well lets call them “release problems”…
And by the downscaling mine they are telling me mine doesn’t matter cause I didn’t farm those stupid ass chests.
I already did all that work for my gear, I’m not doing it again for shit I already had.
You still have it… And the Perks, It’s just less effective…
It is a nerf, but sometimes a nerf is in the best interest of everyone to get to a better finished product… Sorry for your loss.

Yeah this is true. I don’t think I’d be back after a reset.
