What was the point of doing literally anything in this game now other than leveling crafting from 1-60? What WILL be the point of doing anything other than crafting? Someone tell me. The same argument that crafters used that got AGS to change the system for their benefit now applies to everyone else who chose to play the game differently than leveling crafting. You gave us a game with several choices how to play. Then you decided to invalidate one part of the commuities time spent in the game. Then they complained. Then you switched to invalidating another part of the communities time spent in the game.
This whole thing is a serious problem. I’d rather a game company just design a game how they choose and then I can decide to keep playing or not. This is too community driven for me and what’s next? You just welcomed yourself to a world of shilling AGS because you showed it was effective.
Back to the system itself…the changes…the expertise system…just scrap it. You are screwing over people either way and you’ve shown your hand that it was not thought out properly. Status quo on crafting and WM and get to some other content please.
I play the crafting path and its just funny how the devs dont seem to realize how counter productive the change is. Even after the fix its still a terrible system.
And notice it’s been weeks since 1.1 increased the crafting requirements to get to 200 by 25% and @Luxendra has said nothing about how this 25% increase means that AGS flat out lied when they said crafting would not get harder in 1.1
Fact is crafters pre 1.1. rushed through AGS’s content, so AGS punished everyone EXCEPT them. Now with 1.2 they plan to reward these same people with post 200 crafting threshold rewards AND they plan to reward these same people in future patches by making them the ONLY ONES EXEMPT FROM FUTURE GEAR DOWNGRADES.
The unfairness of it all is just mind-boggling. But hey, maybe when everyone except crafters quit and crafters start crying about having no one to sell their wares too, maybe AGS will actually start listening and REVERT THE CRAFTING PROGRESSION NERF.

Oh yes, now I remember it went a little like,
“You can still farm to increase your expertise.”
You can now Zerg farm for expertise, and crafters can now make quality gear upon reaching 200 , that they’ll need to reach multipe times as well for different equipment.
Not even close to the same, and the lack of engagement you will get on this thread as opposed to the massive engagement that existed with the previous Expertise changes will point that out pretty clearly.
Crafting gear score and expertise just don’t make sense being intertwined in the same game.
At this point, couldn’t a lazy player just spend 20bucks to buy gold, power level armor/weapon smithing and then make the best gear in the game without even leaving town?
Idk, makes grinding casts, crafting tuning orbs and spending time building parties for hwm farm seem kinda stupid. Seems like crafting is the only real way now, unless you’re a crazy person who likes to waste time.
Doesn’t change anything for new players and future gear score cap increase. The game level 1-60 is now 100% crafting focused and not PvE/Expeditions unless you like wasting time.
They don’t realize that they just need to get rid of any downscaling and they got themselves a winner. If you want to grind money to buy items, grind Watermark to get better drops or craft items for yourself - all paths would be valid and thats how it should be.
The funny part is that the people who play the crafting game still won’t make any money from selling those crafted items on the trading post.
