healing in heavy or greataxe in heavy. Most brainafk things you can do
S&S + Warhamemr also works fine.
In groupplay and āwarā you buff your group with nice 10% dmg and just switch to hammer to place 3x CC and then switch back.
Dont have much todo with S&S since it is stupidly hard to hit anything with your sword skills there is no need to use them.
Of COURSE you can play S&S skilled with a nice shieldbash followed up with a reverse stab but honestly if your target is not in a CC you will not hit anything with your skills^^
Also you have 2 options in using your shield. Get a Greatshield and block till someone remebers he has heavy attacks OR take a small shield and just ādont block at allā and use your dodge.
Great topic by the way. I am 52, and I feel you. In this game I change my tactics by wearing heavy armor, and going with Axe and bow. Hit the mob hard in the head with the bow, then finish with Axe.
If you get jumped, Axe for the win with a potion if needed, followed by some food. Just with the bow I can have the mob almost dead by the time it reaches me. Love the bow, donāt think itās op at all. Itās just being used correctly. (head shots for the win)

Dont bother with this game. Its dying hard (already lost 40% of playerbase in less than a month) and the focus on it is entirely click-spam reflex zerg of the DPS.
If you want to stay then the only non-spammy role you can do is hunt beasts for resources, harvest, mine, fish, etc. PVP is out of the question (healers get focused on first and you either wear light armor which relies on reflex clicking to dodge or wear heavy armor and heal poorly in comparison).

Welcome! Iām 47 and on EU Central as well. Currently on Niflheim. I started a new character there because my previous server (Glitnir) is as good as dead, but I didnāt want to use up my server transfer token yetā¦ Plus I really enjoy the levelling and exploring/gathering part of the game. Slowly working towards owning a house again.
Anyway, Iām still searching for a nice laid back company as well. 30+ would be freaking awesome. Havenāt found it yet. Have thought of making my own company, but not sure if Iād like to deal with the hassle of running itā¦ I am more of a follower than a leader, heh.
Maybe itās the PvP side of things, but I seem to meet mostly impatient younger peeps on my travels. I often donāt even dare tell them my ageā¦ theyāll probably think theyāre playing with grandma. I wonāt give up the search however! If youād like to hook up and travel Aeternum at a somewhat slower pace, shoot me a PM! Anyone else, too. I have found Niflheim to be a decent server so far. It has a good sized population, plenty of wars going on with territories going back and forth, but hardly ever a queue, and itās not TOO toxic. It still feels alive most of the time - more alive than Glitnir at least!

I hear ya Rumble. Iām 55 and cannot keep up with the twitchy 15 year olds either, anymore. But pvp healer is probably a step in the wrong direction.
In all the MMOs Iāve played over the years, thatās the hardest role and requires the most skill and reflexes to play well. Not only is the entire enemy team trying desperately to kill you first, but youāve got to keep track of everyone elseās health and positioning and try to heal them - whilst constantly kiting axe murderers.
I think maybe a very tanky dps is the easiest. Itās more forgiving if you eat a few shots. And if you suck, you can always tell yourself itās the healerās fault. Itās always the healerās fault!

Iām 47 and I wear Life staff + Void Gauntlet. Light armor.
Yes, Iām not tanky or agile enough to dodge everything (or anything), mostly lying on ground, but I donāt cate. I can gather, quest, solo most of content. Why to cate too much, I am enjoing game. Maybe mine reflexes were never great during my game career co I did not find any issue playing this game. Just enyoi it, you will get better playing it. Definitely. Thatās my advice.
