So I was a player on fresh start and I thought the begining was better, then a big hole till the end, then the cliffs of insanity after.
I enjoyed the greatsword but probably because its so op and mobile and does everything.
The road to 60 was easier this time but very bland after the initial level rebuild.
After the initial levels the game felt less and less like release and more and more like legacy, meaning it was dead.
I feel like the devs made a torture device not an mmo. Several of the worst offenders azoth cost for travel and moving supplies, the one Trading post made life more bearable, as did removing dungeon keys.
but so much has been made worse
increasing the perk buckets with mostly garbage
changing perks around on previously bis gear.
requring 20+sets of gear and not giving a gear manager.
requiring 20+ sets of gear at all… (refining/gathering/crafting/pve ward/pvp sets ) alternativr spec sets
requiring constant regeming of weapons
Cut and paste combat animations for mobs.
Cut and paste holiday content
Pointless for vertical progression dungeons that require multiple ward sets that you have to swap on the fly with no way to sort.
I do not know if it is because they are just bad developers? because they have bad management and terrible priorities? because they are out of touch with the gaming culture? because they do not care enough? I really don’t know… just a bad job all around.
The implementation of things is half-assed, most things feel like ‘something is missing’. They are slow to respond to balancing. It just blows my mind…
Yeah I sometimes log into New World only to stand around for an hour or two queuing in vain for group content. Then I log off and go do something else.
Everything said by the original poster is correct. What they need is a better road map and budget and developers with more MMO experience or at least talking to MMO players with experience.
