I have a feeling that this has been happening more often, and maybe the bots are reporting back. Just a thought. Remember that…
But seriously, what if they report back when they find another player on their route? How do we fight that, when there are lvl 60 factionless bots that have been running the same cycle, reported thousands of times, and… they are still running around.
You mentioned macros in your post which tells us that you know there is a difference between the two (bot and macro) Could you have been running a macro spamming E so you got wirefiber as soon as it spawned and didn’t miss it when the movie got to a really interesting point? Not saying you did but im still a firm believer that ags wouldnt ban without actually doing their own derective work. And i belive they can detect you spamming E even if no action was made.
Maybe im reading too much into your post but i think you know what happened.
Oh really? Soon we will have people who camp orichalcum spawns being reported as bots by their competitors. Sounds like a good use of AGS’s time sorting that all out.
I didn’t use the e macro, I collected it myself. I know what macros and bots are.Its not allowed i i know… That’s why I made my farm by hand. but it didn’t change, I got banned. The simple movements I do while watching a movie are enough for me to be considered a bot.
Not sure if this is how AGS monitors it, but there should be data on a player including when the button presses are executed. If it’s manual, there should be no discernable pattern.
If it was through macro/scripts, there will almost always be a pattern at some point in the cycle. It could be after 50 inputs, could be after 100, regardless there is a “restart” point or at the very least a quantifiable period of time between each input that would be very easy to identify. Of course, this may be moot if the program is literally randomizing it but I don’t know how many botters actually utilize that.
In any case, if I’m understanding correctly this guy was watching a movie on the side while MANUALLY pressing ‘E’ to collect herbs on the other screen (with occasional WASD inputs to get closer to some spawns as needed). 100% not a bannable offense in my opinion.
you should be able to ACT like a bot and not get banned. punishment should be handed out based on confirming that the individual is cheating, not just looking at a guy and saying its a bot. There is a reason why people dont get instabanned because you think he is a bot. Anti cheats usually involve you allowing them to check your pc, the minimum should be proper investigations if we allow them access to it.
Im not the person to tell you if this is ok or not. but if this is the 2. time you got banned and next ban is perma. I would advice you to adept if you want to continue playing.
That doesn’t make any sense though. If someone wants to make coin off of gathering/mining/logging, and they choose to manually put their own time in doing so for a large portion of time, why should they be punished for it?
Personally, as long as there is a human effort going into the process then it’s fine by me. I only take exception when the only interaction is to click a button (ie. start a macro) and then leave your computer or play another game entirely. Or in more drastic forms, some janky configuration at home that does the button presses for you. If there is any level of focus still on the game, it is infinitely better than botting.
