I got banned for this and I'll do it again

It makes 0000000000000 sense warhammer/axe convos, it has more CC than a character dodges, as blocking consume stamine you either block or dodge but in both cases you’ll end up 60% of the times stuned, that would be fine if the build was meant to be a heavy tank cc with NO damage, but no here comes the best part, it will sometimes literally oneshoot you and if not make you so low on hp that some random archer will finnish you, then comes the mem of the great axe spin skill, which will wipe your whole team in 3 seconds if you get caught by any of the 4 other cc skills. IT’S STUPID, I don’t mind the cc neither the dmg but I mind it when it’s both together, then you add that those users can go with midium and heavy armor, and you’ve a massive cc, damage dealer that you can not oneshot. Literally all arenas are spammed by warhammer/axe same in outpost rush, either nerf the cc’s or nerf the dmg, but having all of this together makes no sense. I vouch for dmg as I think they utility of a class like that should be tank/cc rather than tank/cc/dps

Bro don’t be mad, just don’t go bad designed arena, at opr use bow as everyone else does and thats it, just have fun  As long as there is not gonna be changes in “double” weapon mechanics we gonna have such broken gameplay. There should be atribute requirements to use weapons, everyone talking about it since launch, but devs still igoring it. How a mage can cast powerfull spells without having Inteligence? How an big muscular warrior can use piruets, evasive movments if he is not having dexterity  There is no sense at all in those double weapon system, total missunderstanding, it will be never balanced, never simply not possible, by adjusting one weapon you ruin others, by adding new weapon to game we will have new overpowered compositions, by improving one will make something else too strong etc, its endless.

Well I mean it’s easy does the weapon have insane cc? Yes, don’t give it insane damage, does the weapon deal a lot of damage? Yes, don’t give it a shit ton of cc and make the hits dodgable, does the weapon have a lot of AOE dmg? Yes, give it high cooldowns and mana costs, Does the weapon heal a lot in area? Yes give it high cooldowns and a reduction of healing on yourself, Does a weapon make you immortal?Yes, give the hability a 3 second cooldown before it can get activated meaning swaping to ahachet the very last second doesn’t trigger the immortality you need to hold it for 3 secs

Damage on hammer is too much I agree. And I don’t care what anyone says the way shockwave work in a complete 360 with radius larger than a single light dodge. It’s no surprise this is the most used melee weapon in OPR. It’s free kills.

But if there is anything I have learned is that GA/WH is the golden child and has been like this since the start soooooooo. Don’t hold your breathe.

Reason damage in hammer is high, is because that damage is completely reliant on landing CC. You’re not gonna land a WH heavy on someone that isn’t away from their keyboard. Now, the issue with WH only really comes into fruition when it’s paired with GA. Bruisers are the entire reason it’s so hard to balance this game. You’ve got someone running 300/200 with WH/GA that ends up being tankier than 200/300 S/S because how absolutely bonkers WH/GA is with grit and with grit damage perks and 300 STR, they put out a ridiculous amount of close range damage aswell. It’s so easy to migrate armor classes with it, because of the built in damage mitigation it gets, so nerfing armor classes doesn’t affect it. They just switch to whatever armor class is the flavor of the month.

What they need to do is reduce the damage, as I said such convo should be used by tanks to yolo in cc a lot of people so ranged dps and mele dps go in and wipe the floor, while healers maintain those 5 yolo tank dudes alive. But right now it’s those 5 yolo dudes go in cast aoe insane dmg swap to an axe activate the spin attack and whipe the whole enemy team. Take down the dmg, it makes no sense the dmg output those weapons have, the grit is stupid itself because if at least you could stun them or stagger them but you can’t even tho that, but as I said I don’t feel that would be an issue if the dmg would be more balanced. Still I’ll remember that at most you can ahve 4 dodges warhammer/axe usually has from 5 to 6 cc skills

Honestly think they need to move full grit from 300 str to 300 con. That way you have to choose between maximum damage or full grit. With that, WH/GA bruiser only gets grit on heavies, they only get the built in mitigation from heavies, they only get the grit damage perk with heavies, and stagger builds counter them hard as they should.

So much TL:DR here, i’m overwhelmed.

I don’t think that would help much as when they usually use their heavy attack is when you’re perma stunned by their cc convo at that point is no that you can stun them, but for me the main issue is still the insane dmg it has

If you stagger them before they can CC, that should grant you a window to maneuver yourself out of the situation. That’d probably be the skill check at that point.

you don’t have to dodge away from it, just I-Frame it

don’t forget about Gravity Well Triple Proc Bug - Bug Reports / Bug Reports - New World Forums

that was patched already over a week ago.

Sweet, did they? I haven’t played much in a week, you think they’d respond in a thread it was reported in.

now answer the question: are you light armor? I bet most complaints are from high ego light armor users

Has nothing to do with light armor. WH/GA has always been the most well rounded/oppressive build there has ever been and it will always be. People complained about it when everyone was running heavy armor. GA/WH is the best possible build, it doesn’t have much of any weakness beyond getting sniped by a musket 100m away.
