I think there were a lot of expectations to be met here, and sliding in a single patch at the very end of the month may not be the best way to address them.
Considering the vast volume of bugs and different kinds of bots alone, while completely ignoring any attempts at balance, the expected fixes that they said they were bringing us are a very tall order.
One of the well known ways of solving large intricate problems like that is to break it down into component parts that are small enough to deal with and then knocking the small bits out until the entire thing is fixed.
Its a sort of divide and conquer strategy, and it can be very useful when coding to deal with bugs in that way, if they can be isolated from each other.
You could also use that method to show incremental progress towards your goal, and if you had say a large playerbase of people waiting expectantly to see progress, that would be super helpful. You would have something to point to and go “hey look I heard about your issues and I am resolving them like this one”
At the moment we don’t even have a day to point at and say “this is when the magic bullet of a patch will arrive” and we’re left to speculate.
Good things do not come of us speculating based on stuff like “well its still february, surely that informs us”. Effectively, we have no current data points, and not a lot of good track record to go on, so it’s entirely reasonable that people might be curious.
