Come on man. There are a million things to hammer AGS on but let them take their time on a patch and try to get it right. Don’t bash them for that. Who knows we all may have our socks knocked off when it finally comes.

i dont care if the patch gets delayed IF it actually fixes the bugs they promised to fix.
rushing shit out is what caused this whole mess to begin with.

I would prefer not to bash them at all, but if that single patch we’re probably going to get doesn’t live up to expectations then it’s real hard not to say something snide about their methods.
I actually lost count of how many times we got a copy pasta’d “We’ll be focusing on that in February’s bugs bots and balance update” as our only response when there were hundreds of bugs and issues brought up in threads on this forum for the last many weeks.
It started to feel like they were just waving their hands and saying “this is all a dream, there are no issues, it’ll all go away when you wake up in march”
If we wake up, its march and all the issues are still there, it’s going to be real spicy around here.
For now I’m just highlighting the apparent fact that they are putting a lot of eggs in one basket and that, for a variety of reasons, this is usually a bad idea. I’d much rather be 100% wrong than right in this case, because right means I have to deal with game breaking bugs for another month.
I want them to do well, but they are not setting themselves up for success by sticking to a static patch schedule and jamming everything into one go.
Its not like this is a console game where its going to cost them thousands of dollars for every patch they push because of the various software delivery services being involved, and Sony or Microsoft having to vet stuff.
There’s not a compelling reason that I know of to stick it all in one package at the end of the month, instead of rolling out a group of smaller patches over time intended to target specific issues.
One method would give them much more flexibility when dealing with bugs and more insight into what change caused what problem. When you jam it all into one big omnibus patch, you’re left with a lot of code changes that could have been the culprit and this impedes you when it comes to fixing stuff that didnt work perfectly on the first try.
When it comes to coding, nothing comes out perfect on the first try. The more complicated it is, the more often it comes out far from perfect.
Splitting out the issues into smaller manageable chunks helps keep it simple. And keeping it simple is the only way to deal with spaghetti code unless you want to tear out your hair and not sleep at night.
The problem here is the following: Until now at every patch (that was based on the PTR) nothing meaningful was added after the last PTR update.
Looking now at the PTR notes only shows that 90% of the essential bugs and problems that needed to be fixed are not in their “big bugfix” monthly update. And many of them are active since the closed beta and impact many players every day. So I’m not surprised how most people are extremly sceptical.
They should have started with fixing the base game from things extensively reported since both betas instead of just fixing only their blunders from the last two months.
Yeah dude I completely get why you’re pissed off. Lots of people are and for good reason. I’m just waiting patiently for the notes and actual patch to see how it goes. You have to admit though they do seem to be getting better which is at least a good sign. I’m willing to give them some time but fully realize others may be at the end of their ropes.
no bug if we see little i will go buy gold because they could take a half a year but without a new team in general nothing going to change the team is complete shit and needs to go and another brought in and payed better and someone with actually experience in play games no just coding them
The January patch arrived at the end of the month, so it makes sense that the February patch would be the same. The real problem is that there has been ZERO communication regarding it. Like… this is a MAJOR update and they are fixing ALOT of bugs, so why not make an announcement or press release to create some excitement and reassurance?

Nope just looking for not wasting over 30 minutes everytime I start the game to get the ingame functions working from bugs existing since the closed beta.
This is literally wonderful.
PTR combat changes are fantastic… but I wish they put the rapier changes in. Oh well.
- Yellow Topaz no longer has a minimum drop time.
- Black Gypsum minimum drop time has been reduced from 10m to 5m.
- Purple Gypsum minimum drop time has been reduced from 2m to 30s.
Guess I’m being picky but can’t AGS even keep naming nomenclature consistent when drafting patch notes (topaz gypsum, obsidian gypsum, amethyst gypsum)?
Next patch they will throw a Gravity Well on to the patch notes to fix these issues. I hear it is their way of fixing broken things.
My current headache though. Please add Gravity Well some painkiller effect as well.
Jokes aside, if the patch is released with minimal bugs I will still be happy. Better late than sorry. We have all seen what happens when they rush things. Maybe this way the patch could be more stable. I for one hope it will be.
They pushed back the patch to play Elden Ring.
