I love the expertise idea - but will quit when implemented

I think the expertise system makes sense since it is pretty retarded system as is.

During grind 1-60 you cant equip higer than your level items. But once you reach 60 you can buy a full gs600 set. If you already have a gs600 set (and like crafting/pvp) there is not much point in spending 6-8 months (regular players) in grinding HWM so that you in 6-8 months can start getting loot at your current GS level.
At the same time the current system makes crafting gs500-590ish quite pointless since ppl rather buy gs600 direcly.

BUT THIS SHOULD HAVE BEEN IDENTIFIED IN ALPHA OR BETA AND FIXED BEFORE RELEASE!!! JUST LIKE MOST OF THE OTHER GRINDS THAT WAS PROLONGED.

Now we get nerf to crafting to drag out the grind
Nerf to chestruns to make gs grind longer
And now this…

Instead of putting effort in to actually create new content you all the time slow down progression of current content.

No the correct way to handle this would be to unnerf chestruns (in order to not punish new and casual players as you do) and then speed up the GS grind to make it much easier to get to GS600 (The hardcore players already enjoyed their GS600 grind advantage for a few months). And then up the gear score to 700 where lvl600-700 is based on the new system.

I also think it would be better to only have 1 expertise stat instead of how hwm works per item.
As it is now its still quite a grind to swap from say GA/hammer build to musket/rapier build. First you need to grind 2 weapons to 20. Then you need to farm for new gear… For a casual this takes
weeks to do. If I also would need to grind musket and rapier expertise from 5-600 then it becomes almost impossible to swap setup and then ppl are more likely to quit as you stick to your policy of just nerfing stuff all the time.

I don’t think the pvp crowd that grinded $$ for GS600 to be viable in pvp want to grind pve for 12 months just to get back to their current strength…
I for one am more interested in the pvp aspect than doing portal or chestzergs and if my gear shall be scaled down to my low HWM and force me to grind boring uninspired pve then I thank you for the fish and see ya all in Ashes of Creation.

Read the patch note, they changed pvp scalling (hopefuly witouth breaking it)

Good GS is now less important in pvp and you can WM up while oding only pvp (even tho it will still be painfuly slow)

I realy don’t understand why everyone is crying over these change we got bulied by AGS they decided to stop bully player sure we personaly might not benefit it (i personaly reach cap on almost everything) but the game isbecoming slowly but surely more welcoming to new player lets be happy about thatno ?

This is the similiar system like in Albion you can wear best 8.3 eq but uf you dont have any specs you deal around 60% less dmg than guy who has it. It is a pay to win protection for players who play longer. This is a good change. But why now ? It should be from the game started.

Maybe this system is not about watermark ? Your watermark stays same but you need to level up ur gear get more specs in it that mean just farm to get exp in it.

As I said I think the idea itself is good and makes sense but should have been there from the start OR it should be introduced with new content (and at the same time you relax the old grind 500-600 somewhat to allow for new and casual players to catch up some so you have elite players at gs700 vs casual at gs600ish instead of elite players700 vs casual 520ish…

PVP scallling, has i understand from what they sayed, is changing in favor of skill casuali now if you’r hiting a 500 GS dude you’r dmg will be scalled toward he’s GS meaning all the base valu of weapon and armore (were talking about the base dmg not the upscale not the perk nor atribute point) will be smooth no more stat tchecking peapol.

There going toward a pvp were skill matter more than mindless pve bashing. (you’r 600 gs item with a 4th perk will still be there and that’s an hudge advantage and it have more atribute point)

Although has i mentionned in other thread most of the game basic stuff like % increase of healing arn’t working has intended so balencing stuff around shaky foundations is what it is…

No pvp scalling u moron. It will scale only from pve mobs. So ppl who grinded for gear to have advantage in pvp - rightfully gained, will be gone, just because stupid crybabies like you, who are afraid of bullies. Play tetris, knob.

Yes this is stupid, but as they wrote in patch notes they are waiting for opinions and feedbacks, in my opinion this is stupid and I hope they will not add this.

Please let’s behave I know that u can be irrate by a lot of trolls about reseting our progress, but it is only few ppl posting shits but from diffrent accounts.

If the game had went live this way that’s one thing. Now there are rumblings of resetting everyone back to 500 GS. Pretty much negating everyone’s hard work over the past months which is BS. We shouldn’t be pushed back and forced to start over in a live game, this isn’t beta or alpha… it’s live. At this stage you have to evolve. I look at Destiny every season they increase the WM system. Players find ways to speed up the WM the best they can. The devs see this and next season change their system to force us to have to get the new items as they usually are far better than those items we grinded for last season. Resetting everyone is kind of a slap in the face to everyone that grinded WM, and crafting professions to make voidbent and then spent countless hours farming seven different motes at 2500 motes a piece after you nerfed how we can get some, and all the other mats needed. Getting all those items are never easy but now you kick us back to 500 and we just have go start it all over. Honestly it’s better to bump us all to 600, force this new system on us and make us move forward with the new system to a higher WM of 650 or 700. Pushing back our score and pretty much saying we don’t care you spent hours gathering and farming to make those pretty 600 legendaries tells us that time meant nothing. This will destroy the game and a massive amount of players will just leave hands down.

This is the most important point here, it is a bit too late. I agree that this would have been great at launch, and myself would have planned around it as to how I progressed in the game.

But adding this now, they are invalidating the way some people have played the game thus far (weeks already).

If they go forward with this change then a server wipe is needed. A lot of players will leave, but at least the game will be better afterwards and no-one will be more advantage than the rest. It makes sense considering they have been updating early game questlines.

Yea, I think your idea about upping the gear score in the future (like 3-6 months) and then implementing the expertise system is the better choice. Additionally, I agree that I don’t want to replay the same content for weeks/months to get my character back to its current level of strength. It won’t feel like I’m improving my character. I really like new world and I’ve never really felt “doom and gloomy” about the game, but this proposed system really bothers me.

Link ? i re read both there annoucement and nowhere is it mentionned anny reseting WM
(but i assume there expertise level will start from our current WM)

Who is reseting your watermark ? There is nothing about watermark in patch notes … read it again.

This does need clarity, because it probably only uses enemy GS for certain things like Armor Rating and Weapon Damage.

For example if it applied to Stats then against some with low GS you would lose the thresholds on your attribute passives which can invalidate your entire build.

On the other hand the Expertise Effiecieny does seem to apply to Stats from the printscreen. I would be interested to know if a 600GS item keeps it’s 3rd perk when rated down.

You still have 200 crafting and you can still make 600 gs. Gear.

Now your 600 ha fear will have more value on the market. As people will can buy 520 to 590 gear or get the evolving 600 gear…

If you don’t wanna do the hwm runs. Then don’t wait for the gypsum system and level up on regular content .
