I love this game, but PVP overall needs to be improved

First ever post for me on the forums, lets see how this goes and hope that I dont get flamed too hard!

First of all, I want to say that I love this game to death. It’s been the only game i’ve played since it first launched. With that being said, the main reasons why I decided to play this game in the first place are now some of the things that frustrate me (and many others) the most, and those things are all related to PVP. Lets get into more detail below.

Variety of PVP available to the playbase:

Ever since OPR was released, its been the quickest way to jump straight into PVP action when you want to play for a few hours and log off. However this doesnt satisfy a true PVP’s players needs due to the following reasons:

1 - Teams are completely random and not balanced. Most games tend to have a major missmatch of roles on each team, EG all healers on one team, teams that have a majority of ranged players vs teams that have mostly melee, etc etc. Sure, you can queue with a group, but this still doesnt confirm that teams will be balanced on both sides, it just likely makes the odds better for your own team only.

2 - All kinds of players are mixed into the same pot. You get your core PVP players mixed in with people that only care about getting their daily gypsum, or players that ran out of Azoth and need a quick refill, or people that need quick 180-360 coins, etc etc. These players dont care about the PVP side of things at all and are just there to fulfil their own none PVP related matters.

3 - The scoring system is not an accurate reflection of performance. This is my opinion on the system, some may disagree with me on this and thats ok. However, I dont believe that players who have solid K/D’s, have been in the majority of team fights, and have done tons of damage, should place lower than a player thats killed 20 NPC’s, died 3 times, and killed no one/participated in no fights.

Before we move onto the next points, I want to make it clear that yes… Wars and open world PVP is also an option, however these are not quick ways to jump into some action… considering if you will even get picked for the war or the opposing company decides to defend an influence push.

Combat stability:

Combat stability, war lag, hits not registering, whatever you want to call it, has been struggling since launch. I know that theres been updates to improve the stability and make things better, however its still very inconsistent. Its been especially bad for any melee users (No, not just Great Axes before you come for me with a pitchfork lol). Movement bugs, rubber banding when using abilities fast, and hits simply just not registering to name a few. I dont record any of this my self, however i’ll leave a video below of what im talking about and what it looks like for melee users.

Possible solutions to this?

Some new smaller PVP modes could possibly fulfill the issues that PVP players are facing. For example, a 3v3 or 5v5 mode where players are able to better control their PVP experience with their own group, or solo queue and have an option to tick a box when queuing to say what role they are playing, where the system can automatically keep games more balanced.

This may also help with combat stability since theres fewer players involved? (I could be very wrong, I dont know how server stability/networks work).

An overall ranking system implmented into something like this would also help keep it in check and not have players join purely for money/azoth. However, I’m sure that most PVP players wouldnt mind not having a ranking system at this point since this would be a much better environment for them.

And… I guess thats it! I do want to mention again, that I love this game to death, and the main reason why I play this game is to PVP. I do hope that this post gets seen by a member of staff and someone could inform me on what future plans there are for us PVP players!

TLDR: Game is good but PVP needs some improvement/variety. 5v5 PVP modes would be cool.

Agreed. With small scale PvP and a decent pvp progression system, I will focus a little more on pvp in the future.
