I have been seeing a lot of negative reviews about fresh start servers. I’m enjoying it. Joined a fresh start , looked for the least populated faction. I’m having a great time so far level 33 and climbing. Working on leveling my crafting and can’t wait to get into my first OPR!

Personally I’ve been having a much better time in the last 20 days on FSS than the last year on legacy.
Forum just attracts negativity since it’s the main place to vent.
Steamreviews since FSS shot up from 68 to 86% positive.
So, just enjoy the game mate

is it because you restarted character progression or whats the reason?
I have a level 60 toon I was chasing chest runs and genesis runs for gear score increase and one I deleted also 60. I am just enjoying the new. I enjoy leveling. (crafting… needing 2 kazillion iron ore is tedious) But still fun for me.

I think you have a very biased way in which you interpret and present these numbers in your posts. You have cited these and others numbers in other threads, as some sort of proof that FSS are a complete success…without considering all the other possible reasons these numbers have seen a bump.

This is exactly my point actually. Players came back for multiple reasons, yet fss was undeniably a big part of why players gave the game a 2nd chance.

There is nothing in those numbers that suggests the source of the bumps. It is merely pure speculation. Claiming that FSS are the “big” reason might very well be true, but you honestly have no real evidence.

You are playing the prelude until lvl 60.
Then the game starts and spreads horizontally ad infinitum.
Yea I don’t think I have peer reviews studies to back up my speculations.

There is no need for peer-reviewed anything…just a bit more personal due diligence would do the trick.
Edit: I have no issue with people speculating or theory-crafting or having opinions, but you’ve made claims, thrown out numbers and that’s misleading.
Yeah, I’m a 60 and like it as well.
Well Brimstones peak was at 70k.
FSS peak was at 138k.
In my book if FSS wouldn’t be a thing. My GUESS is Brimstones likely would’ve peaked at maybe 80k(but without the whole fss hype it could’ve been way lower).
But dropped way faster and we would currently have a playerbase at like 40k.
Yea, it’s just speculation. I personally do not belive NW would’ve crossed 100k whatsoever without the FSS hype.
Many players that left posted on the forums why they left. In the year since they left, some issues have been resolved, others not. But I do agree that FSS was successful in getting players to return for a Fresh start. Sadly, some of the reasons they first left still haven’t been fixed in this past year, so they are leaving again. In another year, they may give the game another shot. That’s just how some people are.

Yea, exactly. But people who will leave now. Will leave with a different attitude than the last time.
The game just doesn’t offer too much(for now). But it still offers a lot, and is a great game in itself.
But it will go through cycles of popularity and decline just like other mmorpgs.
Still think it was so key for people to go from “oh this game is utter trash” to “oh it’s not a bad game, but I’m done with it for now” mindset.
Since the up and down will be way more likely for next expansions now. And it allows AGS also to charge for future content (if they decide to) since the overall game is received pretty well atm.
And well, money still talks. More income = hopefully more content.

100% agree. NW has come a long way, since I started 13 months ago, but it still had a long way to go to really compete with the more established MMO’s out there.

Brimstones was planned already at release. So they just finished this.
There’s quite some speculation AGS is working on a new mmorpg over the past year. So who knows. This might get dropped and they will throw out something new and way bigger out in 5years.
I have played since launch, without a break, and I have REALLY enjoyed the FSS experience. I accomplished the goals I wanted to get done and then went a little further, but now I am back to playing my main on the Legacy servers. I will go back to my FSS character later when they finish the MSQ from 26-60.
