I think they will nerf light armour next, because people roll far or something, no one cares you can get one shotted if you do not roll or that you basically freeze at the end of the roll.
The data suggest otherwise ,mages were always dishing out top damage followed by ranged dps then followed by great axe and hammer. Your personal lack of skills is not enough to nerf any weapons ,devs have more than enough data to balance weapons .Feedback is valuable but data cannot be ignored .Mages still pump the most damage in wars followed by ranged dps then the melee.

Only >7% of players have GA max tree’d to lvl 20.
I don’t remember the numbers for hammer.
It’s probably some sort of digital mating call to get more Chad 2h users.

I don’t think you can beat a good rapier or spear user with a GA or Hammer.
Anyway, fire AOEs were the counter but they overdid it on mages. This is a really tough thing to balance. You see, AGS wants people fighting on the point, which means GA/Hammer, but if you buff fire mages too much (or ice) you’ll end up with everyone playing range. I know I’d switch up immediately, it is a lot easier to be at range than inside the ‘lag ball’ hoping you are getting enough stacked heals.
Everyone gets pummeled by the hammer train, that is not a reason to nerf them.

Here’s the problem: these people have demonstrated quite clearly that they have no idea about balance, nor how to fix anything without breaking five more things. I cannot believe it’s possible they actually play this game. Oh, but they won’t have ANY issues putting some new garbage in the cash shop, and I haven’t seen a single problem with people purchasing anything there lol.
I dunno what the last war you played in was but hammer spam (with the exception of the week long mage meta) has always been the top strategy. These days its 35+ gaxe + hammer virgins with void gauntlet nullifying oblivion spam. It is also hilarious how you think large damage numbers are the only thing that makes a meta.

Trust me there were PLENTY before they buffed them. Gaxe war hammer spam has almost always been the height of the meta. Now it is a must bring or lose.

It’s not about beating a SINGULAR gaxe hammer user. Its about beating 35+ in wars and yeah it is a difficult thing to balance but if the devs thought S tier weapons needed to be made S+ I really dont think there is any sense between them
Yeah of course not, the cash shop is vital to new worlds existence! It is MUCH more important than furniture trading or EU trade post. But yeah it’s a damn shame.

Balancing that is hard. You up fire mages and all those GAs will switch to fire. Like I said, I would in a heartbeat. I prefer mage.
In fact, the meta will probably change every few months. Only way out would be to create combos and trios between various weapons, so you would want to have a variety. Like an enemy who has been lit ‘on fire’ can’t block arrows as well, or takes more block stamina damage. Eh, too late to think up any good ones.

Nobody has any problem watching this game go up in flames. So it makes me wonder why anyone made it anyway.

Because he has nothing to do with new world, hes not head of AGS, hes part of the lost ark team. Rip, I won’t even be buying lost ark after the fiasco that was new world, and I wanted lost ark way more than I did new world. Add in that dude and its a no brainer.
Money. If you were a billion dollar company with loyal followers and watched companies like EA and 2k get away with releasing hot dogshit and charging 80$ for it every year… ya see where I’m going with this?
