I sent you a pm regarding it, but it’s mostly the timezone
Majority of the Delos population is from SEA, and a good 50-150 or about 200-300 players at peak are from Aus, and their timezone is not the same as the SEA peak timezones. That’s why you can have so many content creators that almost never see each other in OPRs (but they usually overlap at some point)
The way they handle balance just mind blowing to me.
Whelps is a early morning grinder, I go to bed when he’s still playing arenas. Whelps has the most pvp hours in this game 100% - I play like 2-3 OPRs before getting bored shitless whelps does like 10-15 + Arenas.
ME is a problem mostly when players leave ranged players alone, uncontested, practically peaceful allowing them to stack without a care in the world. Half the time this sounds like facing off against Butcher from HOTS. A menace when fed, not cc’d, or killed, absolute garbage when focused, bullied, & not allowed to even hit 100 stacks whole game. Same thing different Genre. Upon death all those ME stacks go away, so really its up to counter sniping, counter arrows, flankers to keep the ME perk under control. That Simple
drop it from 2 to 1%
I do understand where you are coming from, but I have seen it all, you can read back up in the post to hear a funny story about a pocket healer giving SnS buff to a cracked musket with mp, I do think at times you can clear someone’s stacks but then there is situations like where I chase a 15 stack musket to try to clear his stacks from the moon point all the way to his spawn doors on star side just for him to hide inside and keep his stacks, I’m a medium melee, I’m not supposed to be able to catch a lot of these guys that HIGHLY benefit from MP WAY MORE than any other type of class and you know what I don’t really want to spend 4-5 minutes of my opr game chasing a dude across the map in the forest, when I’m playing an objective build and all I really want to do is clump fight and play the games ACTUALLY objective in an objective game mode lol, chasing some dude I can’t catch isn’t fucking fun in anyway. 70+ kill opr games are NOT healthy for the game and imagine a newer player that has shitty gear and is trying to get into pvp, if they can shoot back or if they are defenseless, those players just get 2-3 tapped isn’t good for their experience as newer players. No player should be able to even reach 70+ kills in a opr, even if it’s an extreme it’s shouldn’t be physical possible to achieve, it’s not good for the game.
Even if it was cut in half it would still be quite strong and probably still the best choice for range users. It would be great if they did ANY change but ya know, balancing is ignored.
I’ve seen it all too, I see what people complain about almost always left alone 99% of the time whether it be the healer, the musket, or anything that is later roared on the forum like a tsunami. Plenty of matches where people will trade blows in a fort completely ignoring what is prolonging the fight, attacks everywhere & ultimately pushed out by the team that coordinates.
If you attack a musket & fail to kill do not spend 4-5 minutes chasing them. Cut back & re-enter the objective. They will come back predictably, after securing point or in between the battle double back around & attempt the assassination again or to be sure of kill secured bring 1 extra. Never waste time chasing runners.
Normally this should be left up to other range players which unfortunately sucks grass because they’re too busy stacking points off of the grit lords fighting on point to ever care about killing off a 5-50 con unit.
70+ kills are not healthy but neither is mass nerfing everything into the ground when its almost always so far been human input that causes it rather than system input. (Excluding bugs). You can achieve far more health out of the mode by simply altering the point value by boosting objective & lowering kill/damage. The map itself is mostly a wide open field. There is still no Cell vs Cell matchmaking. Lots of things can be done to make modes like OPR healthy. Heavy Nerfs & removals haven’t done much of anything but piss people off n made people quit.
If no player should be able to reach 70+ kills then there are other factors that are in play that have nothing to do with Mortal. Such as the combat scale being set to PvE, armor isn’t well defined nor shouldn’t have combat scaling and attributes among the weapons are a whirlpool of a mess.
yeah it could still maintain its power and not be as strong a lot has to do with the position the fact that you have such survivability with off hand rapier just makes the risk not so risky to have a perk like that more to gain than to lose just needs balanced enough to where its not a windmill slam choice on every build
Just one particular instance, the dude with 20-30+ kills and no deaths has to be dealt with, just have to at least try it to put him in the dirt or he will just run free for the rest of the game, that’s the thought process at least with that situation and why I chased him to spawn, I was laughing like this is really happening.
Yea just sometime you can’t win, opr is a coin toss at the end of the day, it feels like most games at least few are going for their full stacks and playing very carefully to not lose them, just hope the range on your team is good lol.
This isn’t a heavy nerf, they have just legitimately done nothing to the perk that been complained about not only by me but many others for over 5 months now since they originally fixed the perk to work as intended. The only other change they have done is the freaking tooltip, it’s a joke. They have the combat lead addressing dex/bowpr in a dev video like two months ago, they are aware how range gameplay is affecting the mode, take multiple months to do anything, nerf the musket’s cough cough still fucking amazing weapon, nerfed the range but then made a passive that worked on only headshots and crits now apply to all hits and wait, the passive ignores all fall off damage, what in the fucking hell kind of logic is that. If every range weapon is being overused in opr if we are in a dex meta in opr for literal months then why don’t they just wake the fuck up and nerf the thing that is increasing those users by a possible 30%, it’s mind boggling to me the way they handle balance. To your point it’s in the users hands, MP benefits better players with better aim, to spiral the already good player that can land more consistently to be able to kill a target with less shots, MP is more beneficial to the better player that can abuse the perk to its full extent longer.
Opr needs a lot of changes, a new map would be lovely even if it had problems, at least it might introduce some type meta shift/freshness to the game mode. A lot of people are sick of what opr offers and just don’t q anymore.
Also saw a screenshot yesterday of a musket getting 40 kills in an OPR and they legitimately had 2 of their main abilities disabled because of the musket bug, shooter stance got disabled today, and I legitimately wouldn’t be surprised if you still see 30 kill games with 3 major musket abilities being disabled, MP is a major factor why these guys are still destroying people with half their abilities missing. They COULD do a lot of things but MP nerf even if it was cut half would still probably be the main choice for range, the perk was created with probably good thought/intentions but probably the worst thing the happen to pvp in this game, even ice spike meta, bb one shot combo we’re nutty times but MP is a tumor that doesn’t go away.
@Aenwyn @Luxendra @Kay @ShadowFax @TrevzorFTW @swarf why do you insist on ignoring balance, why is it always stated by devs “feedback in game and on the forums is listened to” when it is clearly not, and please tell me why you think this is good for your game?
(Not in the war, just reposting the screenshot)
That’s insane.I haven’t played PVP since BS expansion.
From the looks of this Mortal Empowerment looks like it’s even worse than it used to be.
I thought 40-0 was a reason enough to make emergency balance changes. What a joke. Snowballing power mechanics should not exist for similar reasons Death Spirals aren’t fun.
That’d be cool if they didn’t largely leave each other alone. There is a distinct lack of an actual assassin playstyle that would be an actual counter to backline ranged. All we have are these high mobility pseudo-assassin type builds which are essentially skirmishers with cc.
Herein lies the problem. Sns stagger nerf killed range/melee balance
Doesnt take a genius to see that coming. I’m not surprised the rammifications werent understood immediately. Smh…
And so we are relegated to inventing an assassin build because we don’t have one yet ![]()
@Dave_NW “As you may know we are always reading feedback, tuning, testing, and iterating on weapons, their perks, and combat.” HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH
